We were given a disabled room which smelt dirty and damp and the carpet was sodden in places. We had to request to move to another room. There was a constant mechanical noise all night which we believe was due to external air conditioning.g equipment and there were constant bangs. The hotel informed us prior to booking that we would not need to queue for the Cloud bar but on arrival we were told that we would and that the waiting time was 30 minutes!

food & some service let it down
Sent for a club sandwich & fries on room service & it was nearly cold. Tried to book a table in restaurant(as advised on website) but no-one answered, then phone clicked onto another extension, which then rang off. This happened several times over a period of about 45 mins. Then rang customer care who said they would try to help & put me through to room service! As it transpired,a reservation wasn't needed. Was looking forward to trying some of the items I had seen on the a-la-carte menu, but was only offered Table-d'hote @ £25. Whole meal was very ordinary & much of it did not seem to be freshly cooked.Starter ok but it smelt like the plate had been wiped with a dirty cloth, which spoilt it. Fish was overcooked, Cheese selection poor & no sign of the water biscuits stated on the menu! This was supposed to be a treat & it didn't feel as special as I'd hoped. I had been prepared to pay for quality as a one-off! Bar man very friendly & gave me a glass of better champagne at basic champagne price, as they had run out.

Great hotel - very friendly staff
This hotel was perfect, and I don't say that very much. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious, modern and clean. I had booked into a hotel down the street which was $10 a day cheaper, but was noisy, old fashioned and pretty beat. I changed to this hotel and there's no comparison. Granted, you have to pay for internet at the Hilton, but the difference between the 2 hotels was unbelievable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone.

Short walk from hotel
If you come in by train, the station is only a block or so from the hotel. Easy walk,(even with suitcases), and there are many restaurants in the area. The food at the hotel is very good, but a bit pricey. If you book through [...], you do get a much better rate than is posted on the Hilton website.

Great weekend break
We booked an Executive Plus room (floor 16) for a Sunday birthday night out. The room was great with views to the south but the executive lounge even better on floor 23 with free drinks and canapes after 1700. Ate at the Chaohpraya Thai which was excellent and finished at Cloud23 with cocktails and the view!

Acceptable but dissapointing
While the room was pretty and the location is great for buses or a walk, I was disappointed by our stay. There were two fire alarm incidents requiring evacuation, including one at 2AM. We were there for a specific city event, for which this was listed as a host hotel, and the staff knew nothing about it - including how to get us there. The hot tub was under reconstruction, which you wouldn't know unless you went to use it. On the last morning there, they had some time of water problem that left us with no water from about 5 - 8 AM.
