A very very good hotel
I was quite surprised just how good the room was at this hotel. I would highly recommend it to anyone who has a stay in Manchester. The only slight downside is that it takes little time figuring out exactly where the hotel is. But, you can easily see it from Manchester Piccadilly station. I will certainly be back here the next time I'm in town.

THis hotel has a good location,
THis hotel has a good location, being next to the main train station in Manchester. The rooms a large with very quait, with large windows the length of the room. If you need a bath you will need to ask, as some of the rooms have showers only. The breackfast is very good, there is a good selection for vegeterians. A good price and large rooms for Manchester.

Location: Right next to the Fairfield
Location: Right next to the Fairfield St exit of Piccadilly train station. Less than a 10 minute walk from the city centre and very handy if you are going to the Apollo theatre which is walking distance straight down the A6. Nice spacious hotel. Large rooms. We were room only so can't comment on breakfast. Spa area lovely but no swimming-pool makes this hotel good instead of excellent. How can you have a spa with 2 saunas, a steam room, tropical shower and heated mosaic tiled benches and no swimming-pool? Sorry Macdonald you've missed a trick here to make this hotel one of the very best in Manchester.

One word, amazing! One of the
One word, amazing! One of the best hotels i have ever stayed in and such a great price for what we got. The big window overlooking the city was so unexpected and the first thing we noticed about the room. The bathroom was great too, a big seperate shower and a big bath. Nicely decorated in marble. The Bed was so comfortable and plenty of room for us (queen size bed). There was a litle table and chairs and an ipod dock next to the wardrobe (which we made good use of!) We had a minibar in room but didnt use it as it had to be unlocked by the reception. We did however ask reception to deliver ice for our icebucket - nice touch! The only thing I was disappointed with was the price of food and drinks in the hotel. Me and my husband had 2 sandwiches and two cokes. We were £23! When we arrived we ordered two alcoholic drinks. Was £9 for two which i thought a bit steep as one was a pint! We had drink in our room instead with the free ice!! :) Also we didnt get sky in our room!

complaints
we should of checked in at 2, we parked on the car park about 12 went into hotel was told to come back at 2 we went to do a bit of shopping got back 2.45 to find out our friends room was not ready so we had to wait, we did finally get to our rooms, there was still a dirty tray outside our room (not nice) then our friends tried there card in the door and it did not work so they phoned reception and had to wait another 10 mins to get a another card. we got into our room which is a lovely big room and i had a shower, while i was waiting for the hubby to shower i decided to get into bed to keep warm, i pulled back the quilt and the sheets were dirty which i think is disgusting, so i had to phone reception and the maid changed them, our friends also requested for a ice bucket to be sent to there room because they had treated us to a bottle of bubbly for our anniversary which they had to go to reception them selves to get it because they took so long. The spa was area was small aswel.

Lovely hotel
I would have given this five stars but one of the lifts was broken and the other wasn't stopping at my floor so I had to go down the stairs with my bags. Luckily I was only on the second floor. The receptionist said I could have used the phone by the lifts to get assistance but I was down by then.

Unprofessional Payment Customer Service
- I arrived at the front desk, knowing that the payment had been taken from my account in August, as is normal for [...]. Then after I gave the lady on the desk my name and reference number, their was no record of me paying for it. I then was asked for my debit card, so if they need to charge me for the room, then they have my card to fund it.- After some persuasion, I then asked for my room key and explained that they would have to look in to this in the back office, as it was so unprofessional to do this in front of waiting guests, and for them to call me for an update.- I got the call after 40 minutes, stating that they had made a mistake and that they had seen the payment made back in August from my account! - In the call, I was told that I would be expecting a call from the Reservation Manager, never got the call and will not be returning to the hotel, especially as Prostitutes roam to the side of the hotel! Many thanks,Carl
