Amazing

The hotel was very clean and staff couldn't do enough for you. We got there a bit early but our room was ready for us. We ate in the restaurant 2 nights and the meals were fantastic. They did a meal deal, two courses plus a bottle of wine for £17.95 each and worth every penny. The location was perfect most places were within walking distance if not the trams and local buses were at hand and very reasonable. We would recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

Excellent stay

As a lone woman travelling for a long stay (5 nights) I found the hotel excellent. The staff were very friendly, they observed security measures such as placing me close to the lift. The room was immaculate - I am sure I am the first to use it and it was well serviced daily. I have ticked noisy not due to the hotel's fault but to say it is in the city centre and despite the double glazing you can hear some street noise though it didn't bother me. The food was excellent and the staff were very helpful over leaving luggage and with direction. I would stay again and have recommended it to others already. Thanks for a fantastic stay!

Nicely refurbished

I have Noisy clicked above only refering to street noise. I first stayed here in 2006 when the rooms were basic but cleen but traffic was a serious issue. I got a good deal, so I decided to pick this hotel again. On my return, the hotel is going through major refurbishments. The staff as before were really nice and friendly. Upon entering my room, I was delighted. The room was beautiful, Good size, exellent decor and the bathroom was really beautiful, seperate shower cubicle and bath and the shower is fantastic. Their was a brilliant wide screen tv and the bed was huge and very comfortable. My negative points and Im probably been picky is that, the air conditioning was not working and it was really hot in Manchester that weekend. However, I was offered a fan. The windows didnt open and despite the efforts to block out the street noise, I could still hear traffic noise, though not as bad as before and a better improvement. Iv stayed at the Novatel and the Ibis on Portland st and they were better for blocking out street noise. Their was a quilt as the sheet on the bed and it felt a bit unusual, quite hot and not necessery. The hotel entrance is a bit unusual, you walk into a door way and up a flight of steps to the small reception area. A major black mark, is that the hotel is now fully non smoking which I find ridicilous I didnt eat there, so cant comment on the food or dining, I didnt see a bar, so dont know if they have one. Again,, exellent staff, beautiful rooms and when the air con gets going, it'l be very good, exellent if your not bothered anout the small street noise and sleeping on a sweaty quilt. Location for hopping is exellent, about 10 mins to Market st, Manchesters main shopping area and about 15 mins walk from Picadily train station. If I cant find find a hotel with a smoking room,, Id consider this hotel again.

i stayed at this hotel for 2 nights,on

i stayed at this hotel for 2 nights,on arrival on friday afternoon i was told that my room was not ready,i waited about half an hour and was then given my room key,i had a double room on the second floor which was very comfortable the only draw back was it was at the front of the hotel facing the main road, this is a very busy road both day and night,so didn't get much sleep, but other than that i could not fault the place, there was building work going on during my stay but that never bothered me.It is located in the middle of the city centre so i was within walking distance of everywhere i wanted to go.I got a very good 2 night deal at this hotel and if i were offered the deal again i would stay here again no problem the deal i was offered came through this site [website].Overall a pleasant 2 night stay.
