The Midland is conveniently located in the heart of the city centre, this Grade II listed icon oozes luxury, comfort and style, and enjoys a history that leaves other Manchester hotels out in the cold. The Midland has one of the grandest histories of all the hotels in Manchester. Over the course of its 100 year history The Midland Hotel in Manchester has welcomed many a King, Queen, President and Rock Star. And, should you choose to stay with us, it's where you will be treated like royalty too. The red-bricked Victoriana that Manchester is famous for is perfectly captured in the architecture of The Midland, setting it apart from some hotels in Manchester which lack the history and character of this grand hotel. The building's characteristic style continues inside, where you'll find opulent decor, rich fabrics and shimmering chandeliers. Stay in any one of the sumptuous bedrooms or suites to unwind after a hard day or gear up for the night to come. Enjoy some seriously extravagant dining with a choice of three restaurant options, one of which is the award-winning French Restaurant, voted one of the top restaurants in Manchester. Choose from 312 luxurious rooms and suites. Each suite has a unique style and offering that little extra that may tip you over into a state of delirious intoxication with the beauty of the place. A cold shower in the palatial bathroom should take care of that. These are modern, old fashioned grand rooms, individually designed and utterly striking, with tasteful tones and the odd splash of drama. At The Midland Hotel our on-site fitness gurus are here to show you how to use the various equipment within our leisure club and help you find the programmes that suit your level of fitness and your goals. There is also a newly refurbished squash court at the hotel which really does add to our uniqueness.

The Midland Hotel Rooms

Deluxe Room

Standard Room
There's nothing standard about our guest rooms. They're everything you'd expect from this Manchester icon, celebrating luxury in a unique blend of opulence and contemporary design. Each one is beautifully decorated, decadently comfortable and equipped with everything you need to chill out. The rooms offer 2 Single beds or 1 Double bed and feature Air conditioning, ensuite bathrooms, free Internet access, hairdryer, trouser press, tea and coffee making facilities and 24 Hour Room Service.

The hotel is a classic in the city, great location and access to restaurants and transportation. Concierge was fantastic, besides helping me getting anywhere I was expecting a package and they really took cacre about it. Excellent experience and I definitely will come back to this hotel.

Midland goes beyond expectations

This is the most beautiful hotel we've stayed at yet. Everyone was very nice and helpful. The breakfast was fantastic and dining room beautiful. We were very thankful the concierge sold stamps: both postcards and international so that we could send things back home. We had no complaints with this hotel, and will return on our next trip to Manchester!

Don't bother with taxis or the metro. If you can walk, choose to walk. Everything in the city center is within walking distance and because there are always people out, it feels safe!

Excellent Hotel, Great location

Great location, excellent hotel, small pool. Car parking also a problem as you have to use the nearest NCP carpark costing around £18/day. Great breakfast and very helpful staff.

Great way to end our trip

The hotel check-in was easy and fast. They allowed us to check our bags and do everything later since we were running to a football match. Room extremely spacious and no noise which was wonderful!

"loved this hotel"

Loved this hotel - only complaint is that the staff at the front desk were incompetent and rude (but at least the concierge was kind and helpful) - other than that, our rooms were gorgeous, beautifully clean and energy efficient! Room service was fast and delicious, the bed was comfy - the hotel itself is a majestic building. Also, the artwork in the hallways was brilliantly curated, which was a great touch!

Don't be afraid to take the tram! Public transit in Manchester is easy to use, and there's a stop right by the hotel door. (The concierge has maps!)

Great hotel- efficient check in

Great hotel- efficient check in and lovely room. Only slight downside was size of pool and generally leisure facilities could do with a bit of refurbishment. Also shame that the saunas were located in each of the changing rooms which meant that if you had an opposite sex partner you had to use the sauna on your own. Also note that parking is not available at the hotel however there is an NCP car park very close by (£17 for 24 hours).
