Rude staff, noisy rooms and COLD SHOWER!
From check in to check out the staff (with the exception of 1 bartender) were all rude, abrupt and clearly not interested. The desk was left unattended, with long waits to be served as people pushed in and were served first by non-caring staff. The room itself was pleasant and big enough, however the walls must've been made of tissue paper as I got NO sleep all night because of noise from INSIDE the hotel. To top if off, got up at 5.30am to get ready for a 22 hour flight to be welcomed by a FREEZING COLD shower. After staying at various Travelodges around the world, I can safely say I will never stay in one again, or recommend you to anyone.

Convenient
Convenient to the Airport. Though not clearly stated, they do provide shuttle service for a few to and from the terminal. When I arrived to check-in the machine was having problems and it took a while for someone in the back to assist. Seemed to have lots of goings-on in the back, but not very attentive at the desk. All in all, for a cheap place to crash near the Manchester Airport, it provided what I needed. The room was very spacios. I even had a pull out sofa, but I didn't need it.

Close to the airport
Easy access to the airport. I was leaving from Manchester the next morning, so I took the train to this place the night before. It doesn't have a phone or shampoo, but those don't really matter to me when it's £40 cheaper than any other hotel next to the airport. Plus Manchester isn't that big. You could easily make do with this hotel for a couple nights, if need be, and use your saved money on hotel for cab rides to the train or mall.

Worst stay in a Travelodge ever, just as well it was my last
My stay was for 2 nights & I had booked a family room however I was just allocated a double room - Room 253. After the 1st night I went for a shower & there was no hot water, even with the temperature control/tap turned up to maximum. I reported it to reception on my way out & was informed it would be sorted. On my return that evening I tested the shower but still no hot water. I was then allocated another room - Roon 245, & OMG what a disaster. There was a plastic bag over the room smoke detector. I couldn't plug in my USB adapter because the 13A socket outlet was faulty/damaged. The bath enamel was chipped. The bathroom extract fan was very noisy. In addition there is a major tripping hazard on the 2nd floor corridor due to damaged/ripped carpets Furthermore the lifts are not DDA compliant & the lif doors do not fully close. Quite clearly the Travelodge is not very well maintained if at all

Room needs attention
There were no towels in the room on arrival. Not all the lights worked. There was some damage to the walls. Mobile phone reception was not particularly good.

Wouldn't Stay Again
Upon arrival there were a lot of staff behind the counter wandering around and eventually they checked us in, lift was very shabby and did not close fully. Room was very basic wich we thought it would be but it had a very dirty feel to it. We went out into Manchester for the evening and when we came back our card did not work for the lift or stairs, luckily someone came down in the lift and we made our way up to our room to which we could not get into as the card did not work. Went back down to reception and they tried several different cards beofre he found one that would work after telling me that they had lots of these tonight!!!! Got into the room and the main big light did not work so just used the side lights, not really a problem as it was late and just wanted to go to bed. Would not stay at this hotel again, unless they had a serious refurb.
