Hilton Newport hotel

The hotle was average, nothing remarkable. Does not have a lift (elevator) so good luck carrying your luggage up to the second floor. The breakfast that was included in my stay was good. The staff was very helpful and nice. Overall, it was a good hotel for the price.

This hotel was conveniently located for what we have required. Reception staff was helpfull, quick and friendly. The room was clean. We had dinner on our arrival which was good but rather overpriced. Brewakfasr was adequite. Overall, good impression but needs modernisation as looks very 80s. 3 star

Staff we all very friendly & helpful!

We thought that something was wrong when we found out that there was no elevator and that we would have to carry our suitcases up the stairs. The stair carpet had been mended with electrical tape. Our room was hot (no air conditioning),had a stained carpet,dust on the radiator, on the lampstand and under the bedside table, and a generally old and shabby appearance. We realized that Hilton had bought an old hotel and slapped their name on it without renovating the rooms. It felt like a budget motel, except that it was dirtier. The staff finally gave us a better room, but it was a double instead of the twin we had booked. None of the rooms was of the standard that we had expected. We are amazed that Hilton is renting out these rooms. (The lobby is beautifuly renovated and air-conditioned, which makes a false impression on visitors who do not use the rooms.)
