Excellent value late deal,although

Excellent value late deal, although I was concerned by some of the previous reviewers comments the Falcon annexe proved in reality to have excellently proportioned well maintained rooms and felt secure - only gripes being that the plumbing was a tad slow and no bath - but good sized shower I would guess that the rooms in the main old house section are amazing. Breakfast (included in deal) rated highly - wish the weather had been better to explore the extensive gardens. Large complex with the main house directly accessible from the annex rooms. Golf course closed - under construction so hotel relatively quiet - grab a bargain while you can - (paid about £33 per person per night) Did not have chance to view pool or other leisure activities but what we saw was fantastic and different - real stately home feel !

I stayed for one night last year.

I stayed for one night last year. and was very pleased with the accomodation. This year stayed again for one night, but was put in a much smaller room in a different wing, this having been newly re painted and there was a very strong smell of paint and varnish. The full english breakfast could have been hotter. I am not however put of from returning, because of the special price received. But I would definitely not be happy if i had paid the full price

A lovely location in it's own

A lovely location in it's own large grounds, but easy enough to get around by road. The house & grounds are amazing & when the golf course & spa area are open, it will be a superb facility. We stayed in a standard room, which for the price was great value & suitable for our needs.

The setting is magnificent, ideal

The setting is magnificent, ideal for walking, sightseeing and of course golf. The service, however, left a lot to be desired. We arrived after 10pm, and it took over half an hour to check in - guys on the desk had no idea how to use the computer system, and we were left standing around whilst they tried to figure it out. Also, our room (standard) really was pretty basic; the website shots show the most expensive and exclusive rooms. The remainder are small with pretty tacky furniture, a none too comforatble bed and limited tv choice. Breakfast excellent. A bit overpriced for what it was, but you pay for the setting.

Whilst the rooms in the main building

Whilst the rooms in the main building are only comfortable, the surroundings and the charm of this former manor house are worth a visit. The buffet breakfast was very good. The resort is a bit out of the way, and you need to eat there or drive in to a nearby village. Service in the bar was underwhelming.

Stunning location!

Gorgeous location for this striking hotel. It looked amazing from the outside and for the price, the standard room was adequate. Fairly basic amenities in the room but the stay included use of the leisure facilities. Staff in the bar and restaurant were lovely but didn't think much to the snooty staff on reception! still, a nice place and I would recommend it.
