Pleasant Surroundings, Helpful Staff
The staff was more than helpful and accomodations were excellent. It was just a short cab ride away from Windsor Castle, which we took advantage of. We didn't try the food, as there were no vegetarian selections for me and that was the only thing that could have made it better.But there were plenty of restaurants by Windsor Castle. I would definately go back to this hotel next time.

Public transportation is available to Windsor Castle, but if there are more than two of you, a cab is probably the best option.

Hotel room was fine, restaurant Ok but ai thought it a bit much when I had to pay 6 pounds to use their wireless connection for one hour. I travel fregquently and rarely have to pay (can only remember once or twice and never this much). How can a hostal in rural Bolivia provide free internet and this place can't???

Nice hotel and convenient location.
Nice hotel and convenient location. Beer is cheaper in the room mini-bar than at the bar..?! Breakfast expensive if not pre-booked but good.Parking £9 a night.

A Wonderful Stay
Heathrow Marriot was one of the cleanest hotels I've ever stayed at. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Parking was great and cost effective!

Dingy and disappointing
I expected more. The images on the website gave the impression of beautiful vistas of the river. They must have had a powerful zoom lens. The location was pretty central and within walking distance to most local attractions, but my overall impression may have been colored somewhat by my general disappointment in Lisbon. The city needs a good scrubbing and a coat of paint. It could be beautiful, but is pretty gritty.

Sightseeing tip:
Long walk from hotel
Bring a comfortable pair of walking shoes. The city is pretty hilly, but the views from the top of the Castle of Sao Jorge and the monastery are worth the effort. Lisbon is beautiful if you don't look too closely. The views from a distance are their best asset. Take a day to visit the more northern coastline cities of Cabo do Roca, Caix Caiax, and Estoril. We took a bus tour that occupied our entire afternoon. In retrospect, I wish we had spent a few days in Caix Caiax or Estoril and spent one day visiting Lisbon, instead of the other way around.
