Spacious room and excellent facilities

Spacious room and excellent facilities at the health centre. Queued for some time to check in at 9.30pm on a Friday night - only one person on reception!!

First impressions generally good:

First impressions generally good: booked "Double Family Room" but had large "King Deluxe Plus" suite. Furniture & fittings OK, perhaps 1/3 of the way through their lifespan judging by wear & cleaning patterns. Bed was large but hard; bed linen clean. Two TVs with decent selection of free digital channels plus pay-tv options. Small fridge for guest use, kettle & complimentary tea & coffee etc. Food in restaurant good quality but service on first night (Friday) was abysmal - my party had to wait 90mins between ordering & receiving our main courses, & one member got nothing at all, finally giving up & leaving. Meal & drinks were comped as a result, but it should not have happened at all - there appeared to be no maitre de or head chef on duty to actually manage what was going on, & some of the waiting staff were poorly trained & had little or no initiative or common sense. Note that guest parking is charged at £3 per night - not obvious on the hotel's website.

Used as stop over. Bar a bit pricey
