Just a mile from York city centre (and the many attractions you'll find there), lies BEST WESTERN York Pavilion Hotel. This beautifully appointed Grade II listed Georgian country house is located away from the hustle and bustle to ensure a peaceful night's sleep, but close enough to the museums, walls, parks and shops that make this ancient city so appealing. York Minster and the free Railway Museum are both a mile away, the racecourse is two miles away and Leeds, Harrogate and Knaresborough lie a little further afield for yet more shops! And getting to these points of interest could not be easier, with free parking making travel by road a relaxing reality, and a ten minute bus service or a calming riverside walk providing equally easy alternatives. And when you return, our friendly and welcoming staff will provide memorable service that'll make you feel utterly at home!

What a lovely classy hotel with loads of character and modern amenities. Gardens are found in different nooks and crannies throughout and are lovely to just sit in and rest or take tea.
Waiting staff seemed a little bit insecure and inexperienced
and caused a few issues with getting hot tea and coffee to my party within a suitable time but, all in all, a lovely place to stay.

Sadly, what started as a very pleasant evening away turned into an unpleasantly noisy night. The sound-proofing in our room was completely inadequate and we scarecely slept, finding the noise from TV and guests above us starting 1t 00:30 very
intrusive, snoring continuing until 5 when we gave up trying to sleep.

We spent New Year in York and
We spent New Year in York and based our stay here. It was a well-placed hotel for city access with a regular bus service to York city centre. The hotel is a delightful Georgian building with sympathetic colour schemes and furnishings and good
facilities including parking. Anne took us to our room which, although small, was well decorated with abeamed ceilings in the bedroom and en-suite. Although the room was at the front of the hotel traffic noise was not noticeably intrusive. Anne was very welcoming and booked a taxi to take us to our evening restaurant and made us feel part of a 'family'- in fact the hotel has the feel of a country house hotel. Restaurant and reception staff were excellent as were the arrangements for a 'late breakfast' on New Year's Day!
We would recommend this hotel strongly.
