Having recently undergone a complete and sympathetic renovation in 2010 - retaining and restoring a wealth of original features while remodelling bathrooms in luxurious style, you will now experience a new level of comfort in this historically important building. History... The building itself is impressive, and has a rich history, being built around 1710 by an eminent York Physician, Dr Winteringham whose son became surgeon to H.M. King George III. In 1806, it became the official residence of the Assize Court Judges and remained so until the 1970s when it was converted into the small & friendly hotel it is today. Service...
