Very nice hotel in a great location!
I took the train here from London. The hotel is only a short walk from the train station. The location is great and this is one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in. At breakfast there is staff that greets you as you come in to sit down. This is new for me. The breakfast was very good. I liked the lounge that overlooks the river, a very nice place to relax. I highly recommend this hotel. thanks

Just returned from a 2 night stay.
Just returned from a 2 night stay. The hotel, located right on the river, is in a great location, to be able to walk into the city centre, etc which takes about 5 minutes or so. It is perfectly situated for restaurants and bars along the river banks. and the shopping areas are accessed easily. The hotel is clean, the rooms are clean and we were very happy with our stay. Would definitely stay here again in the future

Nice riverside location. Decor
Nice riverside location. Decor a bit dated and tired but clean throughout. Good choice at breakfast.

5 days at the park inn york
The only redeeming factor to this hotel is the location, overlooking the river, if you lucky to get one of these rooms. We did not and were overlooking a busy road. Withing walking distance to the station and over the bridge to the centre of York. Perfect for sightseeing and shopping. The breakfast was chaotic, totally understaffed. On Sunday morning there were about 20 tables left with dirty crockery and nobody availabe to clear and set up. Meantime there was a long queue of 20 people waiting to eat breakfast. No glasses and plates available also.Housekeeping was disappointing. Rooms were clean but when we asked for extra pillows at night they were brought after 2 phone calls to reception. We discovered in the morning they were given to us without pillow cases....!The single room given to a family member was the smallest room I have ever seen in a hotel. It was like a ships cabin room with tiny bathroom, also overlooking the busy road at the back of the hotel. At check out there were a few errors on the bill, internet charges for the day, at 14£ was disgracefully high and we were charged twice in one day.[...]If you could get a room with a river view, and the staff at the restaurant was at least doubled then it could be a pleasant stay. The park inn need to abandon the single rooms. They are not fit for any guest. Especially when single guests pay more they should at least be offered a double or twin room.I dont know if I would stay there again.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
The slug and the Lettuce restaurant is a few minutes walk away and they have a 50% off deal on food and drinks on Mondays. A lovely venue with great views, food and atmosphere.

great value weekend treat
Went to the park inn for a weekend away with hubby and another couple. the hotel was in a great location within walking distances of main attractions.Only negative is having to pay 12pound per day for parking at the hotel, seems steep when your a staying guest. York is a great place for little quirky shops and buildings, the minister is a must to see even if you dont pay to get right through you can go inside and look. Also a ghost tour is a must, not too scary and quite entertaining, do the tour from the shambles. all in all a great hotel, good place will go back again.

Shopping tip:
