Exit A1(M), follow A64 and take the 3rd turning for York A19. Follow signs to city centre. At the Junction (Mecca Bingo on left), go straight on and Travelodge will be on your right.

Poor value for money

For basic "No frills" accommodation, at £85.95 it was vastly overpriced. I have stayed at another budget hotel for £29 and the accommodation was superb. At £19 (the price on the advertisement board in the hotel entrance) it would have been acceptable. For the price we paid, I would have expected better than average accommodation/facilities and maybe including breakfast. Also the pillows were poor; no more than 2 inches deep, and when we asked for more, there were none.

AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT & AVOID TRAVELODGE

My recent stay in a Travelodge York Central will certainly be my last! The room was well below standards of cleanliness, the bed wasn't clean and the room was invaded twice during the evening by strangers. I have complained in person, email and also letter, end result, Travelodge are not interested, my concerns will be passed on and no refunds will be given. They didn't give me any opportunities to restore some faith in the Travelodge brand. Complete waste of £115 for not even a 1 star hotel. Save your money and AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT & AVOID TRAVELODGE!!!

You can do better

No hot water in shower, dirty room, ripped sheets on bed, hotel completely empty yet given mediocre room 1000 yards from elevator

family restaurant next door good value, plus has free wi-fi thus avoiding the rediculously high charge the hotel imposes
