Comfort Inn Ship Creek

The hotel is always nice....nice continental breakfast. We always stay here when we come in. Close to downtown, walking distance. Creek in the back, you can watch the ducks and geese. In between to train tracks, so trains can be heard.

Went for a doctor's appointment. Parking is sometimes a problem with this location.

Breakfast is adequate. for train to Denal this would be great.. My trip was personal and this was out of the way.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Ship Creek Comfort Inn. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They have a free shuttle that will take you and pick you up from almost anywhere downtown! The continental breakfast was great and they even had warm cookies and milk at night! The hotel has beautiful surroundings and is within walking distance to many shops, restaurants and attractions! We would definietly stay here again!

Experience was fine, just to far from eating places, had to walk along ways just to grab a bite to eat an was tired from my flight. Been nice is something right next door.

Overall this is a great place to stay. The pool is a little small but the fitness center is the best "hotel fitness center" we have seen in a long time. Our room was clean, tastefully decorated, with a nice view of Ship Creek. We loved the convenient location and the sounds from the train yard nearby...... although, some may find the trains too noisy for their liking. All & all- a very pleasant stay!

I had a late arrival reservation for a non-smoking room. When I arrived, the only room available was smoking, (previous guest in this room was definitely a heavy smoker, the room smelled like an ashtray). There was a High School basketball tourney in town...kids running/yelling up and down the hall ways until 2AM. I complained to the front desk. I requested, and was moved to a non-smoking room the 2nd night. Still had the kids running/yelling until about 2AM. I complained to the front desk. On the 3rd night, the room directly above me had a drunken party that awoke me at 3AM. I complained to the front desk, they allowed me to move to another room. On the 4th night, the room next to me was having some form of domestic disturbance, (yelling, fighting, throwing, etc.). I asked to be moved to a room on the top floor at the end of the building. The desk clerk advised me that it would cost more. After explaining my past several night's experience, the clerk agreed to relocate me at the same rate. The complimentary continental breakfast is spotty at best, (sometimes they have fruit and boiled eggs, sometimes they don't. Sometimes they run out of juice for a day or two). This hotel is reasonably priced, and is convenient to The Alaskan Railrod terminal,downtown Anchorage and Elmendorf AFB, however, I would not recommend staying here.

My experience with staying at the Ship Creek Comfort Inn was good. I had a late check in due to the time of arrival of my plane. I stayed for 4 nights, the front desk staff was always different, but helpful and courteous. The room was clean, and the air conditioner worked well. I had a room on the first floor, facing the front of the building where there is a little traffic - but not much noise. The bathroom and shower were clean and neat. The breakfast that was provided was very limited in selection, the only fruit was a apple, and the menu only varied between two different offerings during the 4 days I was there. The wireless internet for the first 2 days was slower than a modem - not sure why - the front desk people could not explain or help - I talked with other people who were using their laptops and they also experience the same slow & dropping internet problem. Just be aware that there are no wall connections, just wireless - the last 2 days the internet was reliable and fast - so what's the deal? Trying to find the place was a bit hard, I was driving around and by chance saw the property below a bridge (lucky I previewed the property on the internet), I made a couple of wrong turns, but finally made it there (be aware that there are alot of one way streets in Anchorage). In summary - PROS: Clean, Quiet, Nice staff, no smoke smell, next to river walk, breakfast (kind of). CONS: Pricey, Breakfast (more fruit, better selections), Slow and intermittent internet.

We were pleasantly surprised. Whether there for business or pleasure it should provide a pleasant experience. We would stay again.

The hotel was nice, clean and the staff were great. The only disappointment I had was that the pool was closed and everytime I wanted to use the hotel guest computer is was occupied. They should add a second and third computer for guests.
