Older Fairbanks Hotel, not in the greatest location. One clerk working at 9pm and quite a crowd in the lobby. Given Whirlpool Suite saying "it's all we have left". Dated green carpeting in room.

The room itself was spacious and clean. We were disappointed to find we had to request kitchen crockery, cutlery and utensils under a deposit. The included utensils were very minimal and did not include things such as a toaster or knives which would be expected in a full kitchen. One of the bed bases were broken which jutted out into the room very dangerously. The room was extremely hot and as a result we found it difficult to sleep. T.V with cable was good but no DVD player.

This hotel was really convienint to everything we did in Fairbanks: UAF museum, Creamers field, farmer's market, Pioneer Park and more. The room was spacious with an excellent bed. The breakfast was okay, but the staff didn't replenish items.

Westmark is always a great place for a quick overnight stay. The winter rates are a good value, but the breakfast is not so great. The staff is always friendly and helpful.

Overall this was a very good hotel stay. Upon arrival I asked if a crib I had requested was in the room, they said it didn't show up in the special requests but would get us one though and it was in the room before we'd brought the bags up. Then after settling in we asked about where to eat dinner and they gave us a map and directions to the cuisine we'd asked about. When we returned from dinner the girls at the front desk had a bag of bath toys for our 15 month old son, he was very happy, which was perfect as we were headed up to the room for bath and bed. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful both mornings at 7:00 and 9:30. The only thing that kept this from being a higher score was the king bed in our room, it was rather uncomfortable. I'm a rather frequent camper and would have preferred the ground and an air matress over that bed, we have a king hotel bed at home but both my wife and I woke up with back pain both days. Would probably stay again, there is a nice whirlpool and pool, but would get two queen beds over the king and hope for more comfort.

good value for off-season

I tried this hotel because of the price but soon realized that most of the features were unavailable in the off-season. It looks like it would be a great place when the restaurant are open or the internet cafe and the shuttles are running. However it probably costs more then also. I just needed a quiet place to relax and this was one of the best prices in town. If you are willing to do some walking or have a car then this is the place to go.

When we decided to stay an extra night, we were charged $129 plus tax. Should they have given the discounted price? We made an assumption, but did not verify when we extended the stay. overall is good, nice and cozy, they also serve 24hrs shuttle from airport to hotel, it's sweet! and the staffs are friendly and helpful too, although it's a little bit far from down town, but still within 10 mins drive, as to the value, it's profitable!! I really enjoy staying there.

We have actually stayed at 7 Gables on several occassions. The rooms are pretty and comfortable as long as you don't get stuck in one without a bathroom. The breakfast is better some days than others. This last trip it seemed like leftovers I think because it is the off season. Overall I would recomend it just make sure that your getting the room type that you really want.

From all the advertisements, I assumed this "inn" to be a real inn and not somebody's home with a bunch of rooms for rent. Because it really just is somebody's home! I totally did not expect that and I was not keen on that. They didn't even have any forms for me to sign that I even showed up and just wrote post it notes on the "room" I was supposed to stay in. If people like that and expect it, it's okay, but this can not be called an "inn." Maybe classify as a bed and breakfast at least! So the establishment was pretty okay, but just not what I wanted out of it.

I always prefer a B&B to a hotel/motel because the experience is more home-like, and with direct contact with the owner (in most cases). This place meets the spec. All was ready for us.
We had dinner downtown (a short drive away - this place is best if you have a car, though you can get by without).
Breakfast was simple and tasty. We were on our way the next day.

Our stay was a one night stay over. Wished we could have been their longer. When staying in a new place one never knows when looking at the internet. But you won't be disappointed in your stay. Clean and dark on those long daylight days! Curtains do keep light out. The front desk gals, [...] and the younger gal, sorry can't remember name, were very kind and helpful.

The staff at this hotel is exemplary. They were all friendly, personable and knowledgeable.
The hotel had nice personal touches, including homemade cookies from one of the staff and fun Halloween decorations. The location was great, with major shopping and restaurants within a short walk. Our only let down was the pool area was broken with no repair date in sight.

Convenient to shopping, banks, main highway, and a few restaurants. Good starting point for tourist attractions, most within a 50 mile radius (hey, it's Alaska!) Polite and helpful staff, clean facilities, nice breakfast (more than we could begin to eat...with some small changes daily...not bored with breakfast after a 6 night stay.) Only down side, we stayed in until about 10 AM daily with 'do not disturb' sign out. Missed getting the bed made and fresh towels one day, although the cleaning ladies/maids were supposed to check the rooms twice a day to make sure no one was missed. But clean towels and clothes were promptly delivered when I told them of oversight. Comfortable bed and chair, big TV, and hidden microwave and refrigerator made it seem a 'cut aove'. I would definitely stay there again.

It was the best room for my needs as a worker at the Alaska Railroad. The room was comfertable, and the maid service was not intrusive. I recomend this hotel to anyone that has a labor type of job.

I went to Fairbanks to visit my son in the military
And chose this hotel because of the studio
With little kitchen figuring this would save
Money. It did! I was even able to make him a
Home cooked meal!

Centrally located next to everything! Even
Grocery store and of course all activities and
Restaurants! I would definitely recommend

Nice stay-very affordable-Like a small studio apartment, dishes, etc provided. A couple rooms away was a family with kids that would cry alot, the hotel computer was sooooo slow-dial up? Overall I thoroughly enjoined my stay. Nice-comfortable bed,king size. Interesting thing was they didn't clean but once a week unless you wanted it done more, would cost an extra 10.00.

Had one small issue when I arrived (no heat in the room ) but they solved it very quickly by giving me a new room down the hall and could not have been any better as a staff on the whole. Every employee I came across was super. The hotel is quite pretty and the river is beautiful. Will stay here again, no question about it.

I would recommend this hotel to others. Good location and a restaurant in walking distance. Nice view at the river. However, wireless is not available in each room. If you are for business this can be a problem.

It was nice. Just wish it was located in town, walking distance to downtown. But otherwise great hospitality and comfortable room.

The hotel was very nice, clean, and rates were good. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The continental breakfast was a great deal more than expected. There was always free coffee available day or night. Definitely would stay there again and recommend to friends and family.

The Bridgewater was clean and comfortable, although our room was a bit small. The location was excellent - a block from the visitor's center and right on the river.

Borealis Inn offers 5 rooms with private bathrooms and a spacious cedar deck for barbecues. We are in walking distance to restaurants, shopping, banks, and theater. All rooms are air conditioned and furnished with single beds and queen size beds. Borealis Inn is centrally located and is within walking distance to Downtown Fairbanks as well as summer attractions including Alaska’s Pioneer Park. Borealis Inn offers in-room desks and data ports. In addition, guests may utilize a FAX in the business office. Phones, facsimile, and message board are available for our clients. Languages spoken include English, Spanish, Japanese, and Korean. Borealis Inn upholds high standards for cleanliness and all rooms are well maintained.

This is NOT an Inn or Hotel as usually thought of. It is rooms over other businesess. There are no amenities such as soap, water glass, hangars, blanket, coffee, front desk, staff.
And the price is higher than a real, modern, actual hotel.

Description
A Taste of Alaska Lodge is situated on 280 natural wooded acres near Fairbanks, Alaska. The property features views of the Alaska Range Mountains, Mt. McKinley, Denali, and the Trans-Alaska Pipeline, in addition to the beautiful surrounding acreage. The original 160 acres was homesteaded by Walter and Dorothy Eberhardt in 1947. Walter continues to farm today at age 89. In 1992, Dave and Debbie Eberhardt bought an additional 120 acres to start A Taste of Alaska Lodge, starting with the two-bedroom Log House. The Main Lodge offers both private rooms and family suites. Breakfast is served each morning at 8 AM, and the dining room also features locally brewed beer and a selection of wines. The Log House features two bedrooms - one queen bedroom and one with two twin beds, perfect for a family retreat, couples travelling together, or a honeymoon. The Annex is the most private building on the property, featuring one queen bedroom and secluded outdoor access. Dish Network service, phone service and wireless internet access are available in all buildings, along with a variety of outdoor activites.

The atmosphere here is mostly contemporary, with an Alaskan home-style ambiance, mixed with generous doses of friendly hospitality that only Alaskans can offer.
