We stayed on our way to Florida and then on our way back to Texas. It was very nice. It is located right off of I-10, easy on and easy off. Good food in the area too.

Best Stay for Mardi Gras
Enjoyed a Mardi Gras parade and ball during this trip. The location for Mardi Gras in Mobile is unbeatable. The hotel staff were wonderful, and routinely went out of their way to make us comfortable.

Shopping tip:
Short drive from hotel
Shopping is best done before you arrive. Not much in the way of shops near this hotel, although this is growing. And food after midnight is not to be found nearby.

Good and not so good
We thought the hotel itself was beautiful. Loved the location by the river and Bay of the Holy Spirit (otherwise known as Mobile Bay). We were attending the Revival at the Convention Center so were thrilled the hotel had a walkway. The valet was charming, the check in was very disappointing, mistakes made and not very professional for a 4 star hotel. The room was very nice but the tub faucet was broken. The dining room where we had a late dinner was lovely and the waitress could not have been more helpful but it was a long wait for the food and then it wasn't hot so we had to send it back. It still wasn't hot but we ate it anyway. Not the waitresses fault. I will go back b/c of the location if I'm able to return.

Cheer Mom
Renaissance Riverview Plaza Hotel
This hotel was superb. We were in town for an Cheerleading Competition at the convention center. The location was awesome - we were able to walk back to the hotel in between events. We had lunch in the restaurant - the menu is limited but the food was excellent. We also had lunch in the bar - it was also good but the service was fanastic! Check in was the start to a great weekend, they were so friendly from the valet to the front desk. We had a king room but was hoping for 2 beds - since we were traveling with our 7,9 and 11 year old. We brought a queen aero bed from home and one child slept on the lounge chair. We had more then enough room. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Wintzells, awesome New Orleans typy cuisine. We made resrvations a few days prior for 6pm. We were told they would try to squeeze us in. We arrived at 5pm and were seated immediately. Our waitress was superb and the food was awesome. We had dinner at Felix Restaurant the next night, I was very disappointed - we had a 2 hr wait and the food was terrible, the staff was not very friendly. Would not recommend this - it is located next to the Battleship on Batlleship Pkwy.

Excellent location for Mardi Gras parade
Staff was very helpful recommending family restaurant and location for viewing Mardi Gras parades. Room was clean, large and comfortable for our family of 4. Nice view of the bay from our 11th-floor window. Great location in historic district -- so glad we stayed here and not on the outskirts of Mobile which would have been cheaper.

Nice View of Mobile Bay
Overall we enjoyed our stay. The room was clean, the staff was very polite and good with our kids. The hotel pool was not clean, which was shocking since everything else in the hotel and fitness center was very well maintained. Easy walk to downtown resturants and the Gulf Coast Exploreum. Our room had a view of the bay and USS Alabama in the distance. There was a good deal of noise from other guests. Parking charges were in addition to the room cost [...], would not pay the standard rate to stay.

great hotel
We went here for a dance competition and were pleasantly surprised. Hotel was immaculant, staff was exceptionally friendly. Every need was taken care of. The one draw back was waiting for the elevator. They had 4 elevators, but we still had to wait a while and that was a complaint we heard often. In the hotels defense, they did give us a warning Sunday morning that they expected it to be very busy. Overall excellent!

Beautiful hotel, Beautiful price..
We were there for a Dance competiton at the Convention Center. It was very convenient to the Center and provided a overpass walkway. The staff was very helpful. The room was amazingly clean!! It didn't even look like it had been used before. The view was beautiful. The bed was very comfortable..wish I had one at home. :) (The only drawback was the $12 parking fee.)BUT well worth the money (got a great rate for the room)I've paid more for a hotel of no comparison. FYI: No free internet access if you are on a business trip.

Personally satisfied
Very satisfied with stay. Staff very friendly and personable. Allowed late checkout without add'l charge--very convenient for my husband who did not attend the in hotel conference. Really no time for met to check out other amenities but was very satisfied with place/location/ of conference. Conference food fare could have been better, an afternoon snack would have been nice.
