A mix of funky and tired

The room itself was spacious but sparsely decorated, a sink and no cupboard. Bed was ok but the mattress wasn't able to be pushed up against the wall, which meant the pillows kept falling between the crack and it was really irritating. One pillow was very very lumpy and the other was perfect! The orange hand chair was a cute touch.
Shower was clean but slippery to way on tiles back to the room, so wear thongs!
They offered a complimentary breakie of nice cereals and oats and coffee, teas and OJ which was great. There are also good Mac computers and u can print vouchers and itineraries to the front desk which is very handy,
For the price, it was ok - remember to factor in tax on top of the price, I personally found it annoying when some places include tax and others don't bother to tell u till u get the bill.
The staff were not unpleasant but did not go out of their way to be friendly. There's no restaurant on site, and the shop next store in the Cecil hotel is WAY overpriced, so find a 7-11 and get basics from there.
The area is basically safe, but i wouldn't walk around there at night alone...saw a few cracked out individuals but they left me alone. Pershing Metro station is right around the corner, and is perfect for getting into Hollywood for only $1.50 each way - get off at Hollywood / Highland station and you are instantly in the tourist section where u can jump on tours etc. Metro is safe and comfortable.
I def recommend doing the movie stars tours and seeing the Hollywood Museum, it was great. Madame Toussad's was average. Just walking around the Star Walk was lots of fun. Last tip - if u need groceries, souvenirs, travel adaptors etc do NOT buy them in the first 2 blocks of the Chinese theatre - prices halve the further away you go.

Hotel was in a convenient location, trendy decor. Rooms were small, somewhat dark, color scheme was dark blue/white. That said, the bed was comfortable and everything worked well including the free wifi. $20/day valet was a surprise. Nice casual dining/bar next door. Staff were polite and attentive.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was very clean, a little on the small side but comfortable. Location is awesome, only a mile or two from comedy clubs and bars. The free wine and cheese every night is a great touch. Most memorable was how polite and friendly every memeber of the staff was. Great place.

Nice boutique hotel close to Beverly Hills and West Hollywood attractions. Breakfast consisted of a nice variety items to suit all tastes. Complimentary use of internet in the lobby was a nice touch. Rooms were a bit cramped, but bathroom amenities were beautiful. Would visit again

I loved our room. It was comfortable, clean and had a great view of the planes. We had a small misunderstanding and the Bell service was very slow responding to us but over all it was a pleasure. And the room came with Starbucks coffee and bottled water. I would stay again.

When we travel to L.A. we always stay here. Front desk staff less hospitable than in the past. Hotel less decorated out for the holiday. Room ammenities and pleasantries went downhill. Hot tub overcrowded. Less plush, did not feel like a luxury room, over-priced for what we got. Disappointed in maid service. Had to request room be made up. 4p check-in seems late to me. Came at 3:15 p, but made to wait.

This hotel was a great deal as far as LA prices go. It was close to Hollywood, Beverly Hills and Union Station..and located on Wilshire Blvd. which was good. The room was small, and so was the bathroom. The water pressure in the bathroom was low. I stayed here for one night so for me it was a good hotel for the price and for one night. The valet parking was 25.00..that seemed excessive.

Universal Studios Trip

The hotel was very clean and spacious. The second floor is the only floor that has food vending machine. The rest just have soda machines. This location was walking distance to Universal Studios. It was a nice location from University City walk. The inn was just 1.8 miles from Hollywood Blvd. Recommend repeat stay.

While this is definitely not a five-star hotel, the experience was great for the money and for what it was. My boyfriend and I were driving from AZ and ended up arriving much later than we originally expected. I called to confirm that this would be fine and the staff were very friendly both on the phone and when we arrived around 12:30 am. We have driven all over the country together and seen some BAD hotels so although this was just another short stay, it was definitely worth it. Having a clean room is the most important thing and that is exactly what it was!

I chose to stay here because I used to live in the neighborhood and wanted to be close to my old friends and neighbors. The Super 8 is very convenient if you're getting around on public transportation (or driving) and you're planning to spend time downtown, in Elysian Park, Dodger Stadium, Echo Park, or Silver Lake. The room was clean and functional and quiet despite being on a busy street. The wifi was free and decent strength. One downside was that the beverage machine was empty--I was hoping for some non-LA-tap water! I recommend this place for travelers, but at $90 for a single person it's really not an economy hotel as you would think from the name. Three years ago my mom stayed for $60 at the same time of year, which seemed like a pretty good deal. Not sure why prices have gone up so much.

Only disappointment was on Saturday we had our "privacy" sign on the door. Housekeeping placed a card under the door to call when we needed our room cleaned. Did so at 1:45pm and told them we would be leaving at 2:00 and be gone the rest of the day. Arrived back about 11:00pm to a still uncleaned room. I was very impressed with the staff. They were very accommodating and gracious. The room was clean, decorated in good taste and the view was breathtaking. Normally, the first night stay in a hotel is a restless one because of the unfamiliar surroundings. I only stayed one night and it was a very restful, peaceful sleep.

Parking was $38 a night.. So I decided 2 park in garage next door, which has an elevator to hotel basically, and the staff was great! Oh, didn't like pool size, but it was heated I heard.

This is hotel that knows what it is doing and does it well. Hotels are less about how good they look, and this one looks fabulous, and more about how good the service is. Mr C's does not disappoint in this regard at all. As part of a round the world trip with my daughters Mr C's was one stop in a multitude of hotels in a similar price category but was by far and away the best hotel we stayed in. Glamourous old school Hollywood star bedrooms, courtesy bellinis to kick start one's stay, delicious Italian food and wonderful staff who looked after us beautifully.

This hotel was the quietest I have ever been in and our room was next to the elevator. Plain and simply furnished hotel, no extra's like hair dryer or ironing board. The hotel guest computer was fast and I was able to print material as well as boarding passes. The staff was very helpful.

Good experience but annoyed with front desk on my last night

First, my overall experience was good and I would consider staying at this hotel again. However it is not located at LAX, it's 1-3 miles from airport. However there is a good system setup to pick up at airport.
My hotel experience would have been higher rated if front desk picked up their phone when I called asking for their condiments packs full of sugar/stir stick/creamer for coffee in the morning. The first request I made at the front desk at 9:30pm and the housekeeping brought me only sugar & creamer, not the packets which included the stir sticks. Just a little annoyed since I was getting up early and didnt have anything to stir my coffee with. So I called the front desk from my room and they didnt pick up the phone. I got tired and went to sleep, woke up at 1am and called the front desk who did answer the phone. I asked for the packets and she said she would bring them but never did. I woke up again at 4am a little irritated that I had to get up in 1 hour and still no packets with stir stick. I called the front desk at 4am and a man answered and I explained my issue and he finally brought the packets at 4:10am.
Also in the morning I tried calling and no answer again. And when I went to lobby it wasnt busy at all so that's no excuse.
I would recommend to this hotel to have the condiments, shampoo, conditioner available somehow in the lobby so people dont have to be irritated with their poor customer service. People are stressed out enough travelling and my stay would have been rated higher if this didnt happen.
Also the bathroom smelled like wet towels.
There should be someone to answer calls from the guests at all times. No excuse being short staffed if that was the excuse.
Thanks for having this survey I was going to speak to mgr but now I dont have to.

Good fitness center. Continental breakfast was good - pancakes were great and quick, cinnamon rolls were tasty and they had skim milk. Hotel was very clean and a good price for the area. Very close to Hollywood.
You can hear the street noise on Highland pretty well if your room is on that side.

There's not much that is fancy about this Best Western: from its drab ccorporate green carpeting in the hallways to it's modest, slightly crowded breakfast area, it's details quicky let you know you are in a budget hotel. But that is also it's great strength.You don'tgetfrills, but you get every essential -- a clean room, a small but functional bathroom, courteous service. I was surprised by the roominess of my bedroom - work area space. In my two days, I received nothing but courtesy when I spoke to the staff. The men who do valet parking at no charge were a pleasure. For the work do, the hotel's west side location two minutes from the 405 freeway make it hard to resist. I plan robe back.

Staff was pleasant
Room was nice and well appointed.
Very close to downtown and Staples.
I was told not to put anything in refrig or $50 added to bill. This is not good as most hotel have a refrig for just that.
My wife got bit by a bed bug even though we had white sheets. Maybe just our bad luck.
Would stay again for the convenience and value, but check the bed.

Basic reasonable accommodations

The front desk staff was friendly. The hotel was attractive from the street with a safe parking lot on site. Although the location was definitely not upscale, there were interesting shops and good restaurants within two miles. The street was very busy and the noise level was high. The elevator was out of order and there was a steep staircase with carpeting that needed to be vacuumed. However, the room was clean. The hair-dryer and electric outlet in bathroom was inoperable & there was no ice machine available. We did enjoy a refrigerator & small coffee pot in our room . It was convenient to downtown and our basic needs were met.

Is in a convenient location, I may have bitten by bed bugs, but in a previous trip it was fine.
