Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel

The hotel was beautiful! Easy walking to pier and beach! Hotel staff was very friendly! Without a doubt will stay here again next time. Food from room service was prompt and very good. Love the outside firepits, pool and the bar area. Room itself was very clean and plenty of room. View was awesome!

Everything is great about the Hotel except the noise level. I was there on a weekend and both friday and saturday were really noisy. They had loud parties on the 6th floor conference rooms (I was on the 7th floor). It is definitely not a hotel to relax and sleep early, unless you are located on the area far from the middle of the hotel. They have a few of these rooms but they were booked so I couldn't move. Thank God I did not have the kids with me. No other complaints about it. (oh, Spa not that great and service was ok, not worth the $.)

the amenities are lovely.; the setting is desirable; the structure is nicely laid-out for a beachside and pooll/resort hotel. The wait staff was consistently less than helpful. I'm referring to restaurant and bar staffing. They are not accommodating and seem rude or disinterested. this was such a consistent problem that it seems there must be some management problem in that area. Also, menus need a liitle up-dating. Cleaning of room could have been better.

I would recomend to stay at this hotel. Everyone was very helpful.

We arrived at 5 and our room was not ready (not good), but they got us into a room in about 20 minutes and comped breakfasts for our stay. The breakfast buffet was very good (belgian waffles, etc). Also had an AC problem one evening, fixed in 5 minutes. View of the Pier is great with fire pits at night.

We had a great time. The room was fine, the location was fabulous and the breakfast at the restaurant was great. The staff was courteous and friendly.

I am really not into bashing businesses. But I will mention some of the things that concerned me. $34.20 per day for parking for hotel guests,WOW! $4 room service fee. But wait, on top of that $4 fee is a $3.50 in room dining fee. My room that claims to have balconies aren't actually balconies, it's more like a ledges. It's roughly a foot deep and six feet wide. They also did something I wasn't accustomed to. They charged my credit card a day before I checked out. Never happen in my past experiences, just thought it was weird. No free WI-FI. They don't grant late checkouts. The morning after we ordered room service, they came up at 10am, knocked on the door and asked for their dishes. Some of the nicer things, Steps from Santa Monica pier, 10 minute walk to downtown shopping, nice staff, and nice restaurants. But was it worth the it? You'll have to experience it yourself.

When we travel to L.A. we always stay here. Front desk staff less hospitable than in the past. Hotel less decorated out for the holiday. Room ammenities and pleasantries went downhill. Hot tub overcrowded. Less plush, did not feel like a luxury room, over-priced for what we got. Disappointed in maid service. Had to request room be made up. 4p check-in seems late to me. Came at 3:15 p, but made to wait.

I had not stayed @ Loew's on the beach in Santa Monica in years and always found it pleasant and of high quality. Upon checking in I was given a very "so-so" room they explained was consistent w my rate. The refrigerator had conked out days prior and a musty stale smell in the room along w very loud flushing of adjoining room toilets throughout the night. In the am, they told me they could not switch my room. At the same time I was having major "speed" issues w their internet and after 2 hours of "testing" w their off premise experts they blamed it on "local traffic" which was not accurate.I called [...] and they had me check out and refunded my remaining nights.I moved across the street to a better room @ less money and free internet that worked, and oh yeah, LOEWS , internet is 11.95, and if you want to use their gym, the gym IN THE HOTEL it's TEN DOLLARS.Never, Ever, Ever again.

Valet banged my car door. Room not cleaned twice. Room service claims the DND sign was on the door yet on one of the occasions, laundry was delivered into the room while we were gone. If the DND sign was on the door, laundry would not have come into the room. Stuck in a small room, street level with a view of a wall with a half naked girl.
