The room was clean, adequate in size and amenities. Location is excellent, and the staff could not have been more professional, friendly or helpful. Try the attached restaurant - the food is fantastic and they offer room service!

The dishes are all fresh, tastefully prepared, in generous portions. Excellent service and value in a pleasant atmosphere, popular with local business people, especially at lunch time.

I thought this place was great!
I was in Oakland for a show at The Uptown and this hotel was conveniently located just a few blocks down the street. Can't get much more convenient than that! The hotel attendant was super friendly and helpful. The room was small but it suited my needs perfectly. If you're just looking for somewhere to spend the night I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone else that's going to be staying in the area. Lots of restaurants nearby as well.

Big bargain
The Clarion is in the Chinatown section of Oakland. The front-office staff was helpful, available and very pleasant. The room was spotless though small, and the bathroom had a gorgeous marble floor.. The hotel was an easy walk from the BART, and we were within walking distance of everything we wanted to visit. This hotel appears to have been newly updated. The small restaurant attached had good food and great service. I would return to this hotel anytime. It is a terrific bargain.

Easy, Great place to Stay
Room was small but clean. Bed, bathroom and tv all exceeded expectations. Staff was very friendly. Location is right in downtown next to BART, a convenience store and down the street from Chinatown.

on business. Nice hotel, very quiet rooms. interiors completely redone Rooms small but nicely appointed Bed very comfortable. Decent location one block from BART, free on street parking at night. Id go back, great price!

I went to Oakland for an art class and was looking for something economical and close to the BART. This hotel fit the bill. The service was good and the room was smaller (which I didn't mind at all) but clean. There was a little fitness center and it was right next to a delicious Mediterranean restaurant (ordered the Kufta) which was ran by a very friendly man. The area is a little sketchy around there so it is not ideal night travel for a single or family.

I won't stay here again at this price!
Definitely Not Worth The Money. Uncomfortable bed. Room temperature either too hot or too cold. No happy medium. All vending machines were broke
