week away at the beach
the Bahia hit the spot. i read many reviews and while i agree with the claim that the Bahia could step up the renovation and update a little they still offer everything you would expect from any other hotel. however with this place you get your own beach and you are within driving distance of many other great beaches, great food and freeway access within a few miles. in addition the antiquated feeling did make the experience quaint in its own right; i felt like i was a kid again in California for the first time visiting and in my humble opinion, anyone looking for updated toilets on their vacation has missed the point of going on vacation. my next trip to san diego will be at the Bahia!

BAHIA RESORT HOTEL
My wife and I recently spent 10 days at the Bahia Resort hotel in San Diego. The stay was the nicest my wife and I have ever experienced. We plan to return on a yearly basis. The cost was reasonale and all the amenities were perfect. Who could want more than an excellent hotel with it's own private beach for a nice quiet getaway in San Diego.

rode hard, and put away wet
This hotel is a San Diego icon for the last the last 50 or so years, and is currently badly in need of some TLC. They can start with the mattresses, which are poor at best. This is where a good night night's sleep starts, and I've slept in Motel 6's with better mattresses. The one we had must have been over 10 years old at least. Room smelled musty, carpet was torn, and the coffee maker didn't work. There are many better options for the price.

We will be staying there on our next trip to San Diego
Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. We were upgraded to a bigger room when we arrived at the hotel which worked out great. The hotel is located in a good area, close to Seaworld and the beach. Grounds were beautiful. We took a ride on the Bahia Belle which was very nice.

San Diego getaway
The hotel was a bit dated. We stayed in tower 4 and it seemed nicer than most. Best part if the stay is the location. Across the street is the mission bay roller coaster and beach. Good value overall. Heard they are intending to update many rooms soon.

Couples Retreat
The Bahia was absolutely amazing! I booked the garden view room and was pleasantly surprised upon arrival to see we had a full size fridge, microwave, and pull out sofa! Definitely not your standard hotel room. Just minutes from mission bay, which is beautiful. Staff exceeded all expectations, very helpful and friendly. Plenty of parking and easy to get to. Will be staying here again!!

Great girlfriend getaway
The resort was near everything.. We walked on Mission Bay and Pacific Beach boardwalks. The area was beautiful. The Old Town trolley picks up guests near the property and gives a great overview of several sites. We went to LaJolla to enjoy the habor seals, beaches and shopping. We stayed in a Garden Suite which was large and had a nice balcony. San Diego was a great destination.

Eat at Konos if you like breakfast and sit on the deck behind the shop across the boardwalk and enjoy the view when eating.

2nd Honeymoon
Even though I read some negative reviews about the rooms and staff, I can not complain about them. Our room was perfect and the staff was always friendly and eager to please. The only complaint I could see was the prices, both food and rentals. They seemed to be a little on the excessive side. However, there were more than enough places close by to eat. Did not need the rental stuff. I would suggest not coming in on a Saturday. The resort sets next to the public beach and it was very hectic getting through all the traffic. Also, their wi-fi was not very powerful. Luckily, I had an Sprint android phone.

We have lived in So. Cal. for
We have lived in So. Cal. for over 60 years and had never been to this hotel. I was impressed and pleased with the location, The facilities that were available which made a great weekend for us. I would have no hesitations to recommend this hotel to anyone and especially to those with children.Parking was the only problem and on occasion we would have to walk a ways to get to our room or back to the car, but still a great weekend.

What a great escape!
I loved all the amenities offered at this hotel. From the blind seal pups that were rescued and cared for at the resort, to the cute romantic moonlight cruise off the bay at night. There is something for everyone to enjoy. The location is perfect, so close to Sea World and the boardwalk/beach. There is so much more to see...you need to check it out for yourself! I'd go back in a heartbeat <3

Phil's B.B.Q located on Sports Arena Blvd. is a great place to chow down! The line is always out the door but so worth the wait. The food is delicious and the service is awesome. We first saw it on The Food Network channel and there is a reason for all the rave!
