Located in the historic Gaslamp Quarter, at the epicenter of San Diego nightlife, the Hard Rock is turning up the volume. Where rock star service meets urban chic design with every amenity, the perfect antidote to the elitist boutique hotel or plain vanilla resort experience.

Although Hard Rock Hotel is conveniently located to all attractions, activities and part spots, there is little reason to leave the hotel. At Nobu San Diego, world-renowned and famously acclaimed Nobu Matsuhisa brings his signature nouveau Japanese cuisine to the city's culinary-scape. Two ultra hip bars: 207 lobby bar and Float, the rooftop pool bar and lounge. For more casual fare, Maryjane's Coffee Shop is Hard Rock Hotel San Diego's signature restaurant serving up fun style, fresh attitude and food without rules.

The 420 room hotel, including 176 suites (one designed by the Black-Eyed Peas), also features 300-thread-count cotton Sleep Like a Rock Star linens, custom-designed furniture, state-of-the-art lighting, m-bar (a greenroom inspired refreshment center) and sensually-styled bathrooms featuring ceiling-mounted rain showers. In-room amenities include an integrated video and sound system including 42" LG flat screen HD TVs, wired and wireless Internet access, extensive satellite TV access, video on-demand, video games and Jack Pack technology that allows plug-and-play access from your personal audio player (iPod or MP3), video camera, notebook computer or portable gaming system to the media hub. Seventeen individually designed Rock Star suites allow guests to experience life behind the velvet ropes to the utmost.

And when guests need to download and relax, Rock Spa offers and exquisite menu featuring specialty treatments like Love Potion No. 9, the ultimate couple's spa experience. The adjacent Fitness Center is fully equipped with state-of-the-art cardio and weight training equipment and is accessible to guests 24/7.

The 4th floor, outdoor rooftop pool also provides a uniquely swanky escape for guests staying at the hotel. Private cabanas outfitted with chaise lounges, mini-fridge, LCD flat screen and MP3 hookups are available for daily rental.

The In-Charge includes: Toll free, local and domestic long distance calling, in-room wired and wireless high speed internet access, unlimited access to 24/7 fitness center, Daily USA Today newspaper and The San Diego Union Tribune on Saturday/Sunday.

100% Non Smoking Hotel. There is a $250 Fee for smoking in the sleeping rooms. Valet parking only is available for $37/night.

It is a very LOUD hotel

The hotel itself is new and the amenities are ok. I stay there with my friend for two days. We have two rooms located on 3rd floor, it is regular king bed room and it facing the ocean. The pub downstair is very loud on Sunday, my friend waked up by the noise at 2 am. On Monday morning, they have constraction going on from 8:30 AM and wake me up. I go down to the lobby and try to talk with the clarks, they are not nice and told me the noise is came from outside. I am so angry and go to 4th floor and the constraction is there. finally they agree to change the rooms for us and upgrade us to king suites. If you are ok with the noise, yes it is a very stylish hotel and have fun. If not, it is not a good choice for you.

SPRING BREAK

I chose The Hard Rock Hotel because of my son... Spring Break... He hooked up with the young crowd... I was out for some R&R My request for a room on the top floor and away from the elevator was honored - Thanks a lot to the Reservation Department!!! Now the check in check in staff... I guess I should not have expected "warm & fuzzy" (I guess they must be "cool" in order to uphold the "Hard Rock" ambiance) The location was EXCELLENT Easy access to ALL the attractions, great restaurants and transportation. Shout out to Housekeeping and to the Staff at Mary Janes... Excellent Service Expensive Oatmeal... but Yum... so delicious and worth it!!!

fun hotel

awesome pool, lobby, location, loved it all. the only downside for my situation was that i was there for a conference and the room i happened to have was immediately above the their club 207... so on friday and saturday night it got very loud because of the music and bass. but if you are there for partying and fun, then shouldnt be a problem!

Vary nice hotel, but 37$ a night to park your car is ridiculous.

Great Location, clean and fun

I stayed for 5 nights this past February 2012. Perfect location if you are going to the convention center, just walk across the street. The people at the front desk were not very helpful. I got different stories about the charge for the internet. At the end, they charged me a “Resort Fee” that was more than on line travel agency told me. I was in a rush to catch a plane so I didn’t have time to argue about the extra $20. The hotel is a fun place to stay, music in the lobby and all around. The weekends get loud but once in my room it was quiet. The room was modern, clean and very comfortable. The bathroom was roomy and very clean. It had a nice 2 head shower.

good location and friendly staff

Overall great experience and fun trip. I would say that I don't think it's a spot for guests looking for a quiet stay. The nightclub is pretty loud through the night and can be heard from the rooms and we were on the top floor, but we were so tired it didn't matter. The staff was very helpful and friendly!
