It is a great location, but the rooms are just not clean. The floors were dirty and left your feet filthy just walking across them. Needs attention to a full steam clean.

I would'nt go back
Went and bought cleaner, and towels for bathroom I was thankful I brought my own bedding. Cleaning people knocked on our door at 8:00am and again at 9:00 to see if were done yet. Our check out was at 12:00. Cleaning people also ran up and down hallway dragging a trash can until people left. Could have got a better price if we would have got a room that day using travel coupon guide.

Great Place
I booked a room for a few days to escape from LA. This place is right next to the freeway in mission valley, so I had access to all hot spots. The room was spacious and clean. The pool was ok. Nothing to complain about. I really like this place.

Ok for a crash pad
The price was right, but little else was. We specifically selected nonsmoking for our rooms, and were given smoking rooms, complete with yellow stains on the walls. Our television was broken and we had to call for a replacement which, to be fair, was promptly found and brought in. Everything is old and worn, from the leaky shower to the power outlets you have to jiggle to make work. The pool and spa, however, were nice and well kept, and the central location is outstanding. The staff was helpful as far as they could be: I felt a little bad for them, since they clearly want to help their customers but have little they can do with what they have. This is definitely a "I won't be at the room long enough to care" kind of place to stay.

horrible
Dirty carpet, uncomfortable bed and pillows. Broken shower. Was supposed to stay for a week. Cancelled after a day and was lucky to get a refund and rebook somewhere else

An (almost) perfect place
Excellent location with the San Diego trolley bus leaving in front of the hotel, nice and clean swimming pool to relax after sightseeing, 2 restaurants on location make dining hazzle-free. Rooms are spacious and clean but have outdated TV-sets only (no widescreen). Complimentary wi-fi was really fast, which made it a breeze to surf the net and even the amenities were of good quality for a budget hotel. Only 'lack' was the 'human factor', front desk staff was efficient but not very friendly. Anyway, I would go there again for sure.

Sightseeing tip:
Short walk from hotel
Take the trolley bus which leaves in front of the hotel and go to "Old Town", a key attraction close to the hotel. Explore from there either by the trolley bus or the street tram down-town an Diego and seaport village and - if you are up to a short visit to Mexico (with your passport!) take the 'blue line' to Tijuana, which gets you straight to the border. Avoid the hazzle of driving your own car, no need for San Diego.

Nothing to keep my food cold in the room
This is the only hotel i have ever stayed in where you didn't get a refigerator in the good. I have stayed in room that were cheaper and i still got a frig in the room when i booked my room the amenities said frig comes with the room so i don't get it. Other then that I enjoyed my stay. Howvever i think i will just have to pay more for another place to make sure a frig comes with the room.

Not bad with respect to the payment.
There are ants in the room. Clean. The coffee maker is good to provide a cup of coffee when I get back to my room.

great for the cost
It's clean, great location, the room is big, we got one really close to the road and thought it was going to be noisy, but nothing! ... but we didn't look for a "pretty hotel" just to get to sleep and ready for the next day, no idea how or where the pool/jacuzzi are :)
