Big Kids Holiday
We recently stayed at the Argonaut on our stay in SF. We were travelling from Austrlaia to Dallas onto the Caribbean and then to Vegas and SF. This is the BEST accomodation of our trip! The staff starting with the bell hop were animated, friendly and extremely helpful. To the point of phone calls on the first night and the second last night to check if everything was ok!! The rooms were cute, clean, very comfortable and decorated beautifully to the theme. The beds were amazing and the rooms were quiet. The restaraunt was gorgeous and the food amazing (especially the chowder). And the hot chocolate and wine tasting in the afternoons topped it all off. And all within walking distance to the pier.

Great location in San Francisco
The Argonaut Hotel was the perfect spot in San Francisco for our Spring Break. Fisherman's Wharf, Ghiradelli Square... Perfect location. Steps from the cable car line, we were able to get anywhere in San Francisco.

Watch out for $50 per night parking fees
The hotel was great and the room were very comfortable. There is no parking at the hotel and was valet parking only (off-site).

better than expected
everything was better than i expected. except parking. room was same as picture, very clean and comfortable. looks like high class hotel. but there is no parking lot. you have two choice. valet or park at other place. valet is about $46 and other parking is about $30~$35 nearby hotel. I like everything except parking.

In the Center of the Action
The hotel is within walking distance of all the tourist locations. We walked to Boudin, and Ghiradelli Square. We enjoyed Tiernan's Irish Pub just one block from our door. Tha hotel was delightful, wonderful Hot Toddys. The only drawback was the $61 dollars to park our vehicle for one night.

Funky hotel, but uneven staff
It's a Kimpton, which means it's post-modern and fun. Great location almost directly across from Fisherman's wharf. We had a long, narrow deluxe room with bricks on the wall, a tiny bathroom and a nautical theme throughout. But when we wanted to have a drink on the restaurant/bar patio at 4 pm, when there were 3 empty tables for two, we were asked to go inside since diners might want the table. That was a first for us! And when we pulled up to check in, the doorman never came to our car until we got out and said "we're checking in". And all this for almost $500 a night?

Ghiradelli Square is a few blocks away, but not what it once was. Save yourself the walk.

Argonaut - Great place but tight rooms
Excelent service at the hotel. Very clean, well managed property. Great location for anyone looking to spend time at Fisherman's Wharf. Very north end at Hyde Street. The only downside was the size of the room. Although very nicely appointed, the room was surprisingly small - difficult to get a suitcase past the emd of the bed and the wall.

Sightseeing tip:
Short walk from hotel
Biking across the Golden Gate Bridge. Sounds like a great idea and it would be except there were so many poeple that biking was difficult. For sure don't do a tandem and plan on taking the ferry back if you go to Salsilito. Leave early to avoid the rush as much as possible. Bring a back pack to hold extra clothes to handle the temprature changes.
