Parking was not free

The hotel was awesome! It was situated in a great location that was within commutable and driving distance from each other. The staff was great and the room was even better, better than I expected. The only complaint I have is that not only parking wasn't free but it will cost you $45 a night. I thought parking was free but it wasn't and then I expected the hotel guests to have a pretty good discount but that didn't matter. overall the hotel was awesome, very clean and comfortable the parking situation was my only complaint.

Nice room

Great room. Dislike the $45 parking per night fees that I had to pay for 3 nights. But room and staff was great

stayed two nights. Checked in, girl did not welcome me but asked for my drivers license and credit card. Did not clean my room even though I left for the day by 10 AM. Hotel is in need of a facelift.

Lipstick on a pig

Granted this hotel, like many in SF, is an older building and has been remodeled and recent renovations to the rooms. However our room had exposed wiring on the floor, no ventilation in the bathroom, and worst of all, we were near the elevators and could hear the whirling of the elevators ALL NIGHT LONG! I would not pay half the cost I did for a terrible nights sleep. Parking is alos a joke and ridiculously expensive. On the plus side. the room furnishings and linens are newer, location, staff was friendly and views are excellent from higher floors. Overall 2.5 - 3 stars.

Make sure to ask for a room FAR from the elevators, otherwise you'll be awake all night.

Bang for your buck.

The Golden Gate Holiday Inn far surpassed my expectations. The hotel manager upgraded me to a grand view room on the 25th floor for free as a birthday gift. We received excellent treatment by staff the entire stay. The room was clean and comfortable, with stunning views of the city. The 6th floor outdoor pool has great views as well. There are many great restaurants with in walking distance as well as public transportation stops to take you where you need to go. I will be staying here on all future SF trips. Parking is a bit pricey (45/day) but in a secure garage attached to the hotel with in/out privileges, it was worth it in our opinion. There are cheaper garages in the area as well. Highly recommended this hotel.

7th Floor overlooking the nasty top of another building

I planned a one-day romantic getaway for my wife and I. My wife's mom had agreed to watch our our 5 month old baby over night so we could get away to the city to celebrate our anniversary / Valentine's day. It was our first time to be together, just the two of us, in a while. We arrived at the hotel which seemed very nice and what I would expect from a Holiday Inn. We had picked this hotel above a boutique hotel just for the security of knowing what we were getting and since the photos provided depicted large windows and stellar views, we felt excited! The room was on the 7th floor of a 20 something floor hotel and I assumed I might get a view of the street or maybe some other buildings surrounding the hotel but I was stuck with a view of the top of another building that was seemed dirty and nasty. Not the romantic getaway I had planned but it served its purpose I suppose. I don't think I will stay here again.
