Bright colors and bold patterns characterized a 2009 renovation at the Sheraton Fisherman's Wharf hotel. The result is a light-hearted, whimsical interior certain to make guests smile. A new lobby lounge provides the perfect spot for an afternoon snack (or drink); while the open-air "living room" is a great spot for guests to gather around fire pits on chilly nights. The property is within walking distance to attractions in the area, including Pier 39, Ghirardelli Square and ferries to Alcatraz Island.

Highlights
  • Located near Fisherman's Wharf
  • Complimentary Wi-Fi and high-speed Internet access
  • Huddle with friends around outdoor fire pits on cold nights
Rooms

Color is a central theme in the hotel's 531 rooms. Accent pillows are pink and blue; carpets have tones to match. All accommodations come standard with Sheraton "Sweet Sleeper" beds, flat-screen televisions and coffee-makers. All rooms include complimentary Wi-Fi Internet access; high-speed Internet is available as well (fees apply). Pets welcome (fees apply).

Features

After completing a $33-million renovation in 2009, the Sheraton Fisherman's Wharf redoubled its conservation efforts. The hotel now implements water-saving shower heads, compact fluorescent lights and thermostat control systems that power down HVAC units when rooms are unoccupied.

Hotel guests receive complimentary access to the on-site fitness center and 24-hour business center as well as the outdoor heated pool. Same-day laundry and dry-cleaning services also are available (fees apply).

In the lobby, guests have two dining options. The Sol Breakfast Cafe serves breakfast daily from 6:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. The Spressi Martini & Sushi Bar serves lunch and dinner dishes daily until 11 p.m.. Great Location near the Wharf / Pier 39

Our stay at the Sheraton was great!! From the valet parking, front desk staff and concierge desk, everyone was very pleasant and helpful. The hotel is located VERY conveniently... About a block to Fisherman's Wharf and close to Pier 39. The hotel is comfortable and feels modern with updated lobby and rooms and the cool outdoor fire areas that let you enjoy the outdoors on a cool day / evening. Nothing in this area of San Francisco is cheap, but I feel like we got a decent bang for our buck here. We would stay here again and recommend to others.

Allright, but not awesome

Great location, very close to the Wharf. The staff was very courteous and responsive. However, the hotel has been updated, but it still feed 'dated'. The room had a musty smell, and the king-size bed felt like a roll-away (in it's comfort). We had a balcony view...overlooking the bus terminal. My expectations were higher, but they were just not met. Also, be prepared to pay $50/day for hotel parking if you rent a car. Thats a little outrageous. A '4-Star Rating' is stretching it a little.

WIFI

The room & staff was great. I paid a lot for a room at this hotel and was disappointed that if I wanted WIFI in my room I had to pay extra. After a day sightseeing if I wanted to check e mail or share pictures I had to try to find seating in a full lobby. This tired tourist wanted to relax not fight for seating. If the Sheraton at Fisherman's Wharf added WIFI this would be a 5 star hotel.

Great hotel near the Wharf

I stayed here for a weeklong business trip. The Sheraton at Fisherman's Wharf was a great location. There are several outdoor fireplaces to hang out outside. There is also a gym and a pool.

Wharf Stay

The location was great, near Fisherman's Wharf and easy to get to transportation. Parking was very expensive and charged a tax on top of the daily fee that I didn't see anywhere when booking the hotel. Food was very expensive ($26 for an omelette with a room service order) and $25 for breakfast buffet. Needless to say, we did not eat at the hotel. The room was very nice and comfortable, pool was nice and had fire pit by it. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Lobby can be decieving

Lobby and outdoor seating fire pit area is amazing. Convenience next to the pier was awesome. Rooms are very small and not as clean as you would expect at a Sheraton. Wall and ceiling had some yellow stuff on it. Not sure what that was. Kinda gross. Parking at the hotel over night was $62. But I guess parking anywhere in SF is expensive. Overall not a bad stay but I wouldn't stay there again.

Anniversary time

It's a great location for getting anywhere in SF. Convenient access to buses and streetcars. Concierge staff are friendly and go out of their way to help. We've been staying at this hotel for years, but this is the first time using Orb(this travel company). I think the room we received was inferior to others we've had, and they wouldn't upgrade us. Our room was located right on the entrance courtyard, above the outside firepit lounge areas. While these are lovely to relax at, at night they are used for loud drunken parties into the wee hours. I would stay here again, but certainly not accept a room on this courtyard.

When you get sick of Fisherman's Wharf schtick, take a bus over to Pacific Heights area and just walk the blocks. Beautiful homes, gardens, entryways, and vista views of the Bay. Nice and quiet. Head down to Union Street for afternoon coffee. Fun morning.
