Love the hotel!
Something happened with my reservation date but once I showed the verification from [...], they were able to check me in. The hotel is awesome, clean, comfortable and in a great location.

So-so
A bit less than expected for a Kimpton property. Very small room, tiny bathroom, faded upholstery and carpet, some wallcovering peeling. Dead plants on grand staircase to the lobby. Just not what we expected for a grand old hotel under solid new management.

Met expectations
The Sir Francis Drake hotel offers a great location and classy atmosphere. We received great service and were impressed with the level of personal attention. The rooms are elegant and small, but as large as I would have expected for the union square area. We did hear the street noise on the 7th floor but it did not impact our experience. I will stay here again if back in the same area.

Sir Francis Drake
The staff were all very friendly. The location is certainly central but a little too much hub bub for our taste. We were three floors below the disco (floor 18) and the noise was completely unacceptable.

The lonley business traveler
Good but can use an update
Very attentive staff - It came in handy because we needed to change rooms twice - A/C etc. Rooms are small and can use an update - but it matters only if you spend your time in your room - and then again who does when you are in San Francisco? The location makes up fro most of it.

Good Stay
Staff was very helpful. Room was small but clean. Bed was comfortable. A bit noisy from street noise but it was acceptable. Great location.

There was a diner on the corner that was great. It was recommended by the doorman. We ate there every morning.

great for the price
The rooms were incredibly small and the walls very thin, my only complaints. I was on the 8th floor and could hear street noise, as well as my neighbor snoring next door, also you could hear toilet flushing, etc. The first night was hard to rest. The room was spotless, the bed comfy, but if you have more then one person in the room, i cannot imagine! Great location, on cable car line and walking to all stores and a starbucks located right next door. Staff was friendly.
