Light sleepers beware!
The staff was friendly and the location of the hotel was very central and close to the freeway. One major complaint is that the walls are paper thin. I was on the bottom floor and all I heard all night long was footsteps from above and the conversations/TV's from the two side rooms.

Clean, comfortable and convenient
This hotel provides a simple, clean room in a very convenient location, if you are going to any activities in downtown San Jose. Nothing fancy, but definitely meets your basic needs for a good price.

Order a cab if going back to the airport. It took some extra time for the cab to get there.

Good value and location
The Ramada was clean, a decent location in downtown San Jose, close to everything and in walking distance of the convention center and the Pavillion. Staff were helpful. Decent options for the breakfast provided.

Nice location.
It was located close to everything which meant I didn't have to drive around much and could just walk. Rooms aren't very sound proof though so you can hear people walking outside and stuff.

Good value and convenient
The hotel doesn't look like much, and some of the block towards the highway looks a little rough, BUT the location is extremely convenient. Everything was clean and reasonably priced. Car access to both 1st and 2nd street was a bonus. Because of the location, we were able to walk to nearly everything we could have wanted to do, and with the lodging price we were able to do a lot more.

A convenient hole in the wall
I was in San Jose to attend a conference. The hotel was very close to the location of the conference (convention center) which was good. I got a handicap ( i am not handicap ) room right by the parking lot. The room comes with breakfast and internet. The internet was very slow and the breakfast was 1/10 of a star. The breakfast room is tiny room with two three tables, paper plates with bunch of serials, eggs,... it is like a cheap road motel. If you are by yourself and looking for a place to sleep for a night or two in downtown San Jose, this could be an option.
