No way
Front desk staff was friendly. That's it, I wouldn't recommend it or stay again because it was a hotel with a great past heyday but wasn't clean or well-maintained. Scruffed hallways, toxic smelling elevator, smelly hallway carpets--the maid didn't even pick up the linens on the floor in my room, lightbulb was missing out of one lamp, had to call, bathroom fan didn't work, water pressure far too low. The staff deserve owners who care to restore this potential resort. Who gave it 3 stars? I don't trust the website anymore.

Poor value for the money. Overpriced and shabby.
This is a huge hotel with staff largely uninterested in assisting clients. We requested floor 2 but got a ground floor room at the very back of the complex. NOT to be recommended. There might be nicer rooms in Buildings 2,3, and 4. But the outlying buildings 7-8 are definitely to be avoided. Nice pool, but not well heated, so don't plan on using it in April. Rather shabby and needs to be updated. A staff member misdirected us to the airport before we left and we almost missed our flight. This was the final straw!

You get what you pay for
The staff is great, but the rooms are very old and even though you have a balcony you can't use it as the sliding doors in the rooms only open 4 inches for ventilation. It's a clean cheap hotel but is not as comfortable as the Courtyard or Fairfield Inn which are also close by. There is a very large outdoor area with a great pool to relax by which you don't get elsewhere, but it comes at the trade off of having an older TV (non-flatscreen) with limited choices for programming and average size rooms.

No way this a 3 Star Hotel
Not satisfied. This was just a quick stay during an overnight layover at SJC. Waited a while for the shuttle, actually saw other shuttle drivers swing by twice while we waited. During a speedy check-in, we found out that even the lounge closed at 10pm, so no drinks, no food, no mini bar in the room. Went to the first room, while it appeared clean is smelled musty. Front desk quickly gave us another room which smelled better, but yuck - black stains on the green carpet, obvious ceiling patches that looked unfinished, big cracks poorly repaired in the "granite" vanity in the bathroom. The bed was clean and comfortable and we had no choice but to stay but felt like I really overpaid. There are so many other nearby airport hotels for the same price. You can do better!

Comfortable but no frills
If you are looking for a romantic getaway, this isn't the place. If you're looking for a convenient location and a comfortable bed at a reasonable price, this is a good choice. Fitness center was convenient and had some good machines but it was small.

Fair value easy stay for Airport travel
Would consider staying at this hotel again, the room was clean, the staff helpful, and we had easy fast access to the airport. There we some items in our room which were in need of repair and others that were poorly repaired.

Convenient on a budget
Useful location in that the free public shuttle bus (VTA 10) stops outside in addition to the hotel's own pickup service. The VTA light rail is just outside too. The rooms are in several separate blocks, so there's a slight feel of a motel to the place. I can't comment on the bar/restaurant as I didn't go looking for either, but I did notice it was already closed (quite early) on the evening I arrived - not the place to sit up all night drinking. Seemed good value for the four nights I spent there and the good transport links meant I saved a lot on car hire or cab fares. I'll probably choose it again if I go back.

Original Joe's Italian diner. Get the VTA light rail (Winchester or Santa Teresa direction) to the Paseo de San Antonio stop. Look around or ask where Original Joe's is (about 100yds). If alone, try for a space at the counter to your left as you go in so you can watch the wood-burning grill in action. Good food in big portions.

Ok - Average
Liked: Free Parking, Wireless Internet Disliked: in room service. Failed to replace bed sheets, towels, etc. even request was made. Room was sort of dirty, but attendants said no room clean is available, etc. 88+tax/night wasn't a great deal after all.

OK - Wasn't Impressed
I booked for 2 nights (in 10/07 & out 10/09) --- they never came to change sheets or replace towels. Before leaving for lunch, I made a request. Upon returned at night, I noticed that 2 rolls of toilete papers was left on the small counter where the coffee maker was (???).........I asked if I could check out a bit later than noon time because my flight was delayed for an hour, the lady replied: sorry, all rooms are now fully booked (Sunday 10/09/11) and you can't check out late. The wireless works fine, however!
