Meets Expectations
This hotel is a nicely converted apartment complex. The pool and spa are decent and clean. The workout facilities (which we did not use) are just a couple of machines in a small, converted pool house. The rooms are clean and reasonable size. They are nicely appointed. However, there was absolutely no view. The only windows to the room open to the front parking lot. The back side had no windows, so the rooms were a little dark. The TV was an older style tube TV, which was adequate (we were not there to watch TV). The staff was very welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was a continental-style and the pastries were high quality. They did the most with this property that could be done. The rooms were renovated nicely. But you cannot get away from the fact that this is just a mid-range converted apartment building. I would recommend this for those looking for a nice comfortable and clean hotel room. However, you will not be in the lap of luxury.

Long walk from hotel
The seafood restaurant and bar at the harbor (on the second floor) had great food and reasonable prices. I ordered the crab appetizer. It was a whole crab and was fresh. My wife ordered the fish and chips. The fish was flaky and tender and the batter was crisp, as it should be. You can hang out on the pier at the harbor at sunset and watch the fishing boats unload their catch for the day. Hundreds of lobster and other types of fish. It's a free show and the workers on the dock are friendly.

Nice place to stay
Nice hotel. Clean and people working there were very nice and helpful. Free breakfast, wine with cheese in the afternoon and cookies with milk in the evening. You can rent a bike for free as well. I didn't have a car but it happened that the hotel was not far from the beach or main street where you can find plenty places to eat. Everything was pretty close.

The Natural Cafe. It's a really nice place. Fresh food and not expensive. I would say it's like a 15 minutes walk from the hotel.

Nice accomodations; great location
We were in Santa Barbara for a wedding. We love to walk and this hotel is in walking distance from many of the sights and attractions. The amenities made our stay extra special.

Over night stay
There one day for a friends birthday wine tasting adventure. Must say the the beds are super comfortable. We had the King bed. Very close to the 101frwy. Breakfast in the morning complimentary. It was a good place to stay. Have to use the pool and jacuzzi next time. We did get in early and we could not check in until 3pm, called and they said we could check back at 12 which was nice, but we were out wine tasting.

Brisas del Mar Inn at the Beach
Hotel provides free bike rental, free breakfast and free tea/coffee/lemonade and snacks throughout the day. All in all quite an expensive place considering the fact that it is a vamped up motel, but all accomodation in santa barbara is overpriced so when you compare the level of service from staff, location and other perks provided it is not bad at all. The beds are comfortable too although the thin motel walls and noisy room fridge did impact on the quality of our sleep. I would recommend it to more budget concious travellers rather than those looking for an 'amazing destination hotel' or similar. It is not a SPA rather a hotel with a small pool and a hot tub

Fantastic Hotel in Santa Barbara
We were upgraded to a suite which had a fully fitted kitchen, a dining area, lounge with 42" TV and DVD player, bedroom, walk in closet and bathroom . Every afternoon from 4.30 to 6.30 the hotel served white and red wine and cheese and biscuits which we had round the pool. The breakfast was plentiful and lots of choice. It was a 10 minute walk from State Street which was buzzing at night. We had a wonderful stay at this hotel and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it! We would certainly return!

Short walk from hotel
Palazzio Trattoria Italian restaurant - massive portions. The staff suggest you share a half portion and even that was more than enough. Wine can be bought on the 'honour' system - you serve yourself with house wine and keep a tally on the table and pay for what you drink.
