Hotel Oceana Santa Barbara

I needed a weekend away, and knew of this hotel from across the street of my friends place. It was pretty nice.

Beautiful Hotel. Room entrances are outside. I called ahead and asked for 2nd level room. They accomodated my request which was very kind, however put me in a room by cleaning closet. It was left open most of the day and the next morning by a towel holding door open. I didn't feel comfortable traveling by myself next to that room. Besides that, I will ask to not be put in that room again, the Hotel is Gorgeous. The bikes are free to take out to the pier. Location is fantastic. There is a 15 dollar fee to park your car per day that I did not know about. But parking was ample. Breakfast in am was great too. Staff was great!

I stay at the Oceana everytime I go to Santa Barbara and it has been great every time. I enjoy the fact that it is directly across the street from the beach and the pier and that it's in walking distance to everything going on on State Street.

Very nice hotel in a very convenient location. Walking distance to the train station. If you arrive early don't expect to get into your room before 3 PM. and remember to call them and check if your room has been cleaned yet and is ready for you to check in? They won't call you. Old world charm, comfortable rooms. Very comfortable beds, nice linens and pillows. You'll pay dearly for room incidentals so bring your own snacks and drinks and don't forget water. Oceana provides only Fiji Water and over charges. Small pool, very limited seating at poolside. Small breakfast area so arrive early at breakfast. Nice complimentary breakfast, good coffee. Complimentary bicycles is a nice touch. Very good and personable front desk staff. Overall we would stay there again. One thumb up!

Loved the Hotel Oceana! The staff was very friendly and helpful. I asked to be moved to a room with a bathtub after discovering mine only had a shower, and, despite being nearly fully booked, they kindly accomodated me. The rooms were spotlessly clean and I loved the cheerful accent colors contrasting with the dark wood furniture. Great job on decorating! The landscaping was gorgeous, lots of attention to detail. Also loving their peppermint/lavender O.C Bigelow bath products. The hot tub and pool were clean and pleasantly surrounded by lush foliage. The continental breakfast was good, the dining area kept clean and fresh, with a nice little courtyard out front to enjoy the sea air. The only thing I could possibly say in the negative is that the bed was much harder than i had hoped, no fluffy pillow top, but...no back pain in the morning, either. Overall, really enjoyed my stay!

Great location, we got a great deal. BUT.....room smelled a little mildewy and the TV didn't work the entire weekend. However, the service recovery was fantastic, with a refund offered as soon as I emailed the management (the young man at the check out desk was unable to do anything for us).

I enjoyed the pool and the location of the hotel. However, my room was a corner room and the alarm went off at 6:00 when we did not set it and then it was next to impossible to try to figure out how to turn anything off. Also, not sure whey they don't have ice. It's a little ridiculous that you have to order ice.

We arrived late at night and they have someone at the front desk 24 hours. The room was a bit on the smaller side for four but we don't spend much time in the rom anyway! The room was very clean and cute, including a mini bar, mini fridge, closet and desk. The continental breakfast was perfect and the staff was so friendly. We sat and ate our breakfast while looking out at the ocean. The weight room is updated, clean and sufficient. We took advantage of the complimentary bike rentals. Our room was right by the heated pool and there was another heated pool and jacuzzi over by the weight room with towels on the chairs. The location is right at the end of state street close to all the action but far enough for the peaceful beach feeling. We will definitely be returning!

Met all my expectations. You can't beat the location.

Stayed here for a night, the room was clean and bright and had a fresh smell. The location is really great, just cross the street and you are on the beach. The free bike rentals are nice too, a bike ride along the beach in the morning makes for a nice beginning. The breakfast room can get crowded, but you can take your breakfast to one of the open sitting areas with ocean overlooks. The 3-star for value is because they charge even for parking and tea/coffee in the room. Charging for the mini-bar is acceptable, but these additional charges are not cool when the price already includes a $20 resort fee. Overall though a nice hotel, would stay here again.
