Very friendly staff, comfortable clean rooms, nice pool and beautiful garden setting. We had fun biking with the beach cruiser bikes provided by the hotel - a very nice included extra.

Mini-Honeymoon Getaway
This hotel/inn is quaint & cozy. The staff is great and knowledgeable about the areas, as they gave tips on a great local bookstore(Chaucer's) and the best place for seafood (Brophy Bros!). The wine & cheese mixer in the lobby is great, though being a young newlywed couple, we kinda wanted to keep to ourselves. It seemed there were a lot of older couples visiting, so we just ended up taking the wine and cheese to our room. The breakfast is good: your regular continental breakfast of juices, bagels, muffins, fruit, and oatmeal. Definitely saved a bit of money on breakfast. Location wise, it's great. Nearby State Street, which is like a big outdoor mall, with your Forever 21, Macys, etc...and down the street in the other direction is the wharf. The staff said it's about a 12 min walk. The room itself was cozy. There was a certain smell every time we entered the room from a day of sightseeing. To air it out, we just opened the screen door. The bathroom is small. During the second day we were there, I noticed a few ants crawling around the sink. I didn't mention anything to the front desk. When I checked the bathroom in the evening, there were no more signs of ants. This place is great if you want to stay close to many of Santa Barbara's attractions, especially if you don't want to pay an arm & a leg for hotels. The price is right for the location. The room & bathroom is a bit small. The little perks of wine + cheese, milk + cookies, and breakfast is a great touch. The staff is OUTSTANDING.

Brophy Bros. Hands Down, the best Clam Chowder you will ever eat. They have nothing on San Francisco Pier 39. Fish & chips were great, too. Went on a Sunday, around 1200, enjoyed a bloody mary and ate downstairs at the bar. No wait. Great View. Can't complain!

Customer Service Is Number One!
While the rooms at this quaint little hotel were old, they had been redone. It reminded us of our grandmothers house! The furnishings were updated and the beds were comfortable. The ambiance of the courtyard, pool area and lobby were just wonderful! However, nothing compares to the customer service we received from the moment we got there the moment we left and at all points in between from all of their staff! Michael and Jose were fabulous! The breakfast they provided was perfect and we enjoyed the wine and cheese every night, along with other "regulars" who we became fast friends with. It felt like a home away from home! We had a wonderful stay!

this was a spring break trip, but we also visited UCSB with my son who is starting to apply to collages. I also have a son that is attending SBCC, and lives near the hotel. The hotel is older, but has been well maintained over the years. it was very clean, and I would stay there again.

I loved this place and wish I
I loved this place and wish I had stayed there a couple of days. Some of the facilities were a bit dated but the friendly staff more than made up for it. Nice breakfast and loved the afternoon wine and cheese. Short stroll to the beach and restaurants. Played footy (aussie rules of course) next door on the baseball field. Great times.

Great hotel with a homely feel
Great hotel with a homely feel in a location convenient for the beach and city centre. The free wine & cheese and milk & cookies were a nice touch.

Ok, not excellent, pics are decieving
Booked this hotle for a 4 night girls trip weekend. Room was nice, but not great. Very dated, kitchen was old looking, overall not a pretty sight. Tube tv, no flat screen. No private patio or balcony. Location was a short walk to the beach, but after taking that short walk, we ended up booking another hotel ON the beach that next day. I cancelled our reservation (hotel staff was very nice & understanding) after the first night & moved our location to a nearby hotel. I did get a full refund which was nice. But the next hotel we moved to was same price and WAY cuter! Moved to Hotel Oceana right across from the boardwalk & beach. Excellent decision to move!!!! If you arent picky, this hotel will do. Good breakfast & hot coffee. Nice staff. Otherwise i wouldnt' really recommend it.

Good breakfast
Nice breakfast and extensive free movie library, but the rooms were small, and the Inn is located next to some sort of conference center, and there can be noise.

Sleepless nights,
I've had better nights' sleep in a tent. The rooms were extremely old, weird green carpet, discolored towels, one of the most uncomfortable beds I've ever been in, very dark (you can't open the windows or everyone and their mother can see in), TINY, and the worst of it was that it sounded like a herd of elephants over my head at 6am while people started waking up and the maids started going into rooms. It was pure torture, and we paid an obscene amount of money for that torture. I love Santa Barbara, but I've rarely felt like I was fleeing a city just to be in my own bed again. The only upside was that it was blocks from the beach and 3/4 mile from downtown, so it was all walkable. But at night, there are homeless people who will approach, so I wouldn't do it alone.

Real good place, except
Visited daughter, her hubby, and grandchildren. We had a great time. Hotel staff made up for the arachnids with apology, champaign, and Ferrero-Rochet truffles. Good continental breakfast, wine & cheese at 430, and cookies & milk later!! Best trip we've had in a long time!

The Brew House on Montecito is great. Good food, locally brewed beer, family oriented. The spicy chicken sandwich IS and should be accompanied with something other than the spicy black beans - unless you REALLY like it HOT!! The Salmon Salad is to die for!!
