Decent digs but too close to the highway

My wife is pregnant with twins and got sick while we were there and it rained all weekend. We ended up staying in the hotel the whole time. While this doesn't make for the best vacation, it allows me to give a thorough review of the accomodations. The sound of the highway was there the whole time. While it didn't ruin the ambiance, it wasn't ideal. The folks at the front desk were amiable if not overly friendly. The hot tub had a funny smell. The bathroom window wouldn't close all the way, amplifying the highway sounds echoing through the bathroom. The shower went cold and hot alternately on check out morning, which was an annoying goodbye. While the room had a DVD player, the front desk only has Charlie Chaplin movies. The pillows were limp and flat, the bed hard and the blankets heavy and unwieldy. This sounds like a bad review, but all in all it was a pleasant, restful stay and a charming hotel with a rich history and good story.

Tre Lune was excellent. I don't eat gluten and they offer gluten-free pasta which was a plus. Jeanine's was good but way overpriced and the staff was slightly incompetent.

historic...

quaint, historic hotel. room was clean but well worn. bed was comfortable. room (queen bed) was on the small side. hotel was quite noisy from neighoring room, floor above...etc. in addition, room was on the side facing a neighboring restaurant with an abundant assortment of noise from dishes clinking to exhaust fans whirling. the noises from the restaurant can be almost completely eliminated by closing the window...which make the room quite hot as it does not have air conditioning. so traveler may want to take that into account during spring, fall and summer. had an issue with the room not being cleaned while we were out between 830 and 215 ish. the cleaning crew first wanted to clean the room as cleaning hours were ending at 230. they then blamed the "privacy sign" on the door which we had just hung up when we got back less than 15 minute prior. but iwe spoke to the manager, and it was pretty easy to have them come back later to clean the room during dinner hours.

Quaint hotel

The Montecito Inn has been my "go to" place in Santa Barbara for the last few years. The hotel is cute, the service is good, there is a fitness center and free wi-fi which are nice additions. The drive is close enough to downtown that it isn't a bother but far enough that you are not in the busy downtown atmosphere. In walking distance there are good restaurants. And my favorite feature to this hotel is the toilettries, they smell really good and are of high quality. Overall a great place to stay that isn't too expensive in Santa Barbara!

Westmont visit

3rd stay at Montecito Inn & will not be my last. My daughter attends Westmont College & Montecito Inn is one of the closet places to stay at. The Inn has old fashion charm & service, from the valet parking to the bell service. The front desk staff is always professional & very friendy. The village is just outside with lots of shops & great places to eat at. The Inn & the village is very up scale, but what do you expect, it's Montecito.
