Parkside Inn

Well, this isn't your ordinary hotel. I pulled up, unloaded my car and then realized that there's no front desk. You have to drive to the Hyatt down the street to check in and get your key. That was a big nuisance after I'd been driving for 4 hours to get there. The room itself is average, a bit beat up if you ask me. The bed was too firm. There were dead batteries in the remote control and with no front desk on site, I couldn't ask for new ones - I could have driven to the Hyatt to get new ones, but it was late by this point. And the bathroom is tiny. On the positive side, the location is decent and being able to use the Hyatt pool and gym is cool and the price is obviously the lowest of all 3-star SB hotels. But overall, you will find this to be an average hotel experience with a dose of occasional inconvenience in not having the front desk crew on site.

We went to Santa Barbara to attend a college tour. The room was very spacious and had all the Ammenities. Coffee maker, referig, microwave, iron... It was a bit confusing on the check in which was done at another hotel but overall a good deal.

Amazing hotel, great value - Santa Barbara in January is splendid!

My boyfriend and I decided to get out of L.A. for our two year anniversary. Niether of us have been to Santa Barbara so I chose this hotel since its only blocks from the shore. The room was beautiful and just perfect for the two of us. Clean, lots of parking and no noise. Would highly recommend the place.

After reading some of the reviews about the hotel, I was not to sure what to expect when we got to the hotel. Yes the hotel was next to a park and the freeway, but there is nothing wrong with that. People were complaining about the parking being narrow, if you don't know how to drive then don't park in the lot. It is not a bad place to stay like other reviews were stating. The staff from Hotel Mar Monte was great they attended to all our needs. They were just a phone call away. They helped us with taxis, extra bed, and had great suggestions for restaurants. The Parkside Inn made our trip perfect. The location was great, not to far from State St. I didn't want to write this review because I would like to keep the Parkside Inn as a little secret for ourselves.

The room was great but we were really disappointed because the hotel is under construction so the main reasons we were staying there - the pool/jacuzzi and the workout room were not available for use.

Great comfortable quiet room. Good service. Close beach access. Berm in parking lot makes negotiating the parking lot quite difficult. Area is a bit industrial surrounding the hotel, but it was quiet. Loved the bedding, pillows, and refrig, coffee, etc. Very clean and well-stocked. Unfortunately, pool and jaccuzzi was not on site and being refurbished in the Mon Marte, so one had to drive to use them at the Hotel SB.

Previous reviews about registering at a hotel a block away was helpful. I arrived during the day, they gave me my room earlier than the check in time. It was a bit sketchey at first-as an 'older woman alone' but the room was nice and clean. The location is close to the beach walk 5 to 10 minute walk for breakfast, plus the 25 cent shuttle is close by to take you to downtown SB or Montecito. The beach area, and zoo is very close. i lived in Sb for a long time-now I stay there several times a year. i would have felt more comfortable with my husband- but as time went by i was ok. cleaner that i anticipated by the reviews.

The main difference between this property and a motel 6 was the size of the towels. The property was lacking in any amenities. The sound of the ice machine was a constant companion.

Came in on a very rainy night. Confusing as to where to check in. Staff was very understanding and helpful. Would have liked more accurate description on exactly where my room was. Otherwise, all okay.
