Very pleased with the whole experience
Our last visit to the Molly Gibson was 25 years ago. It was a pleasant place to stay then and we were very happy to find that it is still a good value. The staff couldn't have been nicer, the breakfast was superb as was the apres ski happy hour. Also, food for sandwich making and snacks was available in the a.m. so one can make a lunch to go and save the big bucks not having to buy lunch on the mountain. Very good bus service to the ski areas. Short walking distance to downtown. They were having heating system problems so we had to open our windows at night to keep from baking but this is a temporary issue. Bathrooms, at least ours, pretty snug. Our room had a great view of Aspen Mtn. Nice hot tub. We will definitely stay there again.

Excellent hotel - excellent value
Just stayed at Molly Gibson for 1st time this past weekend. Have previously stayed at almost EVERY hotel in Aspen over the yrs. This hotel is excellent value for the price. CLEAN, breakfast and apre ski are like meals! Very convenient, quaint setting, quiet, sterile hot tubs!! Staff was extremely nice and helpful. Will definitely stay again.

Short walk from hotel
Try the Creperie Du Village - great ambiance. Extra tip: looking for an excellent private ski instructor? Ask them at the bar if they know of someone who will give you a private lesson at reasonable price and have you skiing on 1st day . . .

Great place to stay in Aspen
The hotel is nice, its not 5 star, but its great for the average traveler. The only "bad" thing was the bathroom in our Lodge room was small. Like as long as the tub, and as wide as the toilet. But it wasn't a huge deal for us, you don't spend a lot of time in there, right? The sink was located outside the bathroom with a large mirror, so again, the small bathroom wasn't really a big deal. The beds were comfortable and clean. 32" LCD with HD cable, table and a few chairs. We didn't have any complains about the room, and it was better than other hotels in the area that our friends were staying at. Big bonuses: Free airport transport, free breakfast, and free afternoon drinks (beer and wine) and light food (I think this is seasonal though). The staff was also great. We went in the hot tubs, which were clean and hot. Also, the free city buses stop right in front or very close to the hotel. Will be back on our next trip to Aspen.

Ideal location
The Molly Gibson was a lovely place to stay with the buses to the slopes just across the road. We had a courtyard room which was cosy and did the job. Breakfast and après were an added bonus. The main town was a short walking distance with many great restaurants close by.

Great standard hotel room
good overall experience. The walls are thin and we had a noisy baby and kids next door. Everything else was great.

Perfect for our "Girl Trip"
The Molly Gibson Hotel is located next to one of Aspen's pretty city parks. We were a short walk to all of the shopping and restaurants in town. Our bed was very comfortable, the room was tidy and the jacuzzi tub was a welcome relief after a full day of hiking in the mountains. Beware of bringing a suitcase that is heavy because you will have to tote it up the stairs if your room is located on the second floor. Other than a little noise from our neighbors, our stay was a good one.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
We found a wonderful pizza place in town where we could pick up a pizza, 6 pack and a Red Box movie for the nights when we didn't feel like going out.

Short walk from hotel
Due east about 3 blocks are 4 or 5 really good restaurants. Or head south towards Aspen mountain for a bunch more. All of town is easy walking from hotel, half hour round trip!

Disappointed in Aspen
Wouldn't go back!
We loved Aspen, and have plans to return, but will not be choosing The Molly Gibson Lodge next time. The front desk staff wasn't very friendly. The air conditioner in our room wasn't working and someone came to look at it twice and it never got fixed. We called the front desk at midnight to see if there was anything they could do because we were so hot sleeping.....of course the front desk closes at 11:00PM. I guess if you need something after 11, you are out of luck. Also, they had no bottled water and the door to the ice room was closed after 11 also.
