Not bad!
The hotel is located in downtown Colorado Springs which was nice so that we could walk to many restaurants, stores and parks. It is within minutes of Garden of the Gods, 7 Fall and the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo (a must see!). The hotel itself is nothing special but we didn't spend much time in the room except for sleeping and the price was right. If you are looking for a hotel to hangout at all day I would suggest spending a little more money elsewhere. The "continental breakfast" consisted of doughnuts, doughnut holes, english muffins, coffee and juice. . . and that was on a Sunday morning! All in all a good hotel for someone needing a cheap getaway to Colorado Springs.

You get what you pay for.
Was clean. However, the door had to be slamed in order to get it to shut and stuck when trying to open. A little noisy as you could hear anyone in the hall. The a/c did not work properly. It kept shutting off and stayed off most of the night. The temp knob would just spin around and around so couldn't really set a temp on it. But for the price, it was about what we expected. Was a clean, decent place to stay for the night.

good trip
we were looking for something inexpensive as we were going to the colorado state fair in Pueblo from Denver. we didn't want a long drive the next day so we picked colorado springs as about 1/2 way. we went to pike's peak, king's diner ad dale's cafe. the econolodge served our needs.

Great location - really noisy
Great location near Colorado College and a good price. Rooms are really worn but clean. We have stayed there 3 times and all three times it has been very noisy with young people partying. i wouldn't recommend it to anyone else, but we will continue to stay there due to the location and price. Take earplugs!

Econo = don't expect 3 stars
I chose econoshack because I wanted to be walking distance from Colorado College. It served that purpose well and was cheaper than other hotels in the area. Here are the unexpected details: dirty pillow case had not been changed and was made-up with the new washed sheets and they wre very nasty; the coffee maker was clean on the outside but nasty on the inside; the small shampoo bottles had no seal; the tv was faulty; ceiling tiles falling out; the refrigerator froze my leftover pizza; the microwave started popping while I was defrosting my pizza; the phone did not work; water had been spilled on my papers while I was gone; that might be all but I did not make a list. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I would never bring my wife or kids to this place.
