Now our favorite

We have decided that this hotel chain is now our favorite as we were so impressed with our three day stay. We were attending an event at Focus on the Family, nearby. At the hotel, everyone from the front desk to the cleaners is courteous and friendly. It is obvious that all staff have been trained in courtesy and appearance, all uniformed and socially impeccable. The manager went out of his way to switch our room upon check-in as we needed the privacy of separate sleeping areas for a surprise visitor. The breakfasts were well above the quality of the others. I offered to pay extra for my daughter and her boyfriend's breakfast as they dropped in to visit, but the management gave them a free pass since they were with us. The Monday thru Wednesday light dinners were valuable. Although not always a healthy choice, (hamburgers, hotdogs, cold cuts, chips) we chose to partake of a few healthier items (cheese, fruit, salad items) and glass of wine or beer as an appetizer prior to going out for dinner. The rooms are spacious, clean, comfortable. The dining area was also kept impeccably. On our cross country return following our stay, we stayed at a popular big name hotel from a chain that FORMERLY was our favorite and noticed a stark contrast. Grumpy desk people, not enough pillows for the occupants, dumpy dress code, state smells. We are so impressed with our stay in Residence Inn that we will always try to book with that chain in the future.

comfy suite/friendly staff/ok overall

It would be nice to have an eating establishment or two nearby. Haphazard house keeping. Couldn't use the LIGHTED tennis court, basketball court, or gulf putting green after 9:00.big disappointment. Very boring breakfasts. great oatmeal, however !(canned fruit) Soup and salad one early evening a week, good idea, but old, thick and pretty awful. Friendly staff, efficient .

Mandatory trip due to Cheer Leading Comp

The photos on the enternet looked nice, but when we arrived I was very shocked. The location was good us because we had to spend most of our time at the alamo dome for competitions so we didn't have to walk far. For the price I would have expected much more. I was supose to get complementery internet and I couldn't get on my computer to do buisness and nobody seemed to really care when I called at the desk. I upgrades to the river walk view and when you looked out the window all you could see was a durty building. The pool was ice cold for the girls they couldn't even swim, and there were bugs in the hallways.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

The main river walk is a couple blocks away where it is actually beuatiful. The dining up and down the river is great but exspensive. It is worth it to me. The night life on the river is awsome.

Comfortable, clean hotel

Large, comfortable room with almost any amenity you'd need. Internet was easy to access, television was visible from both the bed side of the room, and the living room side. Kitchen had ample supplies (dishes, dishwasher, icemaker, etc.) Hotel and property were clean, parking lot well lit. Breakfast in morning was well supplied with good variety. Staff very friendly and helpful. Location is a bit remote (no restaurants nearby for instance) but is well located near Air Force Academy for easy access to/from Academy. Would stay at this property again.

Entertainment tip: Short drive from hotel

A new theater has been built up the road a bit. Nearest restaurants/shopping would be about 5 minute drive, down near Academy Drive area.

very family friendly

All amenities were excellent, except the bed sheets. They were old. Besides that, we all felt itch during sleeping in the bed.
