Perfect hotel getaway

The staff along with the accommodations and the setting of the Broadmoor make it one of the best destination points in the west. You will not regret the decision to stay here. The geese, ducks, swans and occasional deer on the property are an added benefit for the children to see. Take advantage of the free movie theater as well.

the broadmoor has been sold!

i spent 3 nights at the broadmoor over christmas 2011 with a friend. i learned from a staff member that it had been sold to a corporation and for the first time in 4 stays at the broadmoor i was disappointed. you now have to pay $16 a night to park. a 50 minute massage with out messaging your hands and head is $180 and if you want your hands and head massaged you must pay extra. they did not replace some of the ammeneties in our room for 2 days and the desk and table where we ate breakfast was not wiped down one day. we had dinner at the penrose restaurant christmas eve and my friend and i ordered maine scallops which came with a lot of maine sand. not what you would expect for a 5 * restaurant. the staff was very young and many of them barely spoke english. i heard that there was a large turnover in staff when the hotel got sold. the good old days of a family run fabulous resort seem to be over and i do not plan to go back. this is very difficult for me because the broadmoor had always been my favorite resort in the world.

Avoid the Penrose Room

The Broadmoor has been sold. Unfortunately, changes dictated by the usual quest for money have started to wear away at the Broadmoors old luster. The rooms were not cleaned properly, the lovely amenities (bath products etc) are inferior and not restocked daily. The worst was a Christmas Eve dinner at the Penrose Room. My friend and I both had scallops and they were all full of sand and grit. Not something you would expect from a 5 star restaurant. We both sent a note to management and did not receive a response. Last trip there which is unfortunate as it has been a favorite twice a year for many years.

The Golden Bee Tavern has a really interesting old carved wood bar. Good place to eat when the other restuarants are booked up.

Exemplary Customer Service

The Broadmoor is not to be missed! On a recent weekend stay for a belated birthday celebration we had a minor mishap with our room (noisy neighbors, some maintenance issues, etc.) and the staff immediately took steps to remedy the situation. They gained our loyalty and business for many years to come with their attentiveness and dedication to making us happy. If you're planning a trip to the Colorado Springs area, you must see this hotel (it's especially festive and beautiful during the holidays.)

Gem along the mountains

This hotel is such a special getaway. My family went to celebrate the Thanksgiving weekend with The Broadmoor's annual White Light Celebration. The event is great, but I have to say the wait for Santa was not really worth it. Visit the pool early in the morning for a smaller crowd.

When onsite restaurants get busy, remember the room service option. We only had to wait 45 minutes for dinner in our room and with an 18 month old it was the way to go, and the food was excellent!

Anniversary weekened

It was a perfect experience. The staff took very good care of us. The room was clean. They sent a anniversary package to our room that included wine and chocolate covered strawberries. When we returned from dinner the bed was turned down and lights turned down and music playing with chocolates on our pillows. We enjoyed ourselves very much.

Pampering and Pure Luxury for vacation!

I wanted to show off this fabulous place to my new husband..as I had visited there many times decades before. It did not dissappoint! Our room was across the lake in a "modern" room. I was afraid it would not capture the ambiance of the old Broadmoor...but in fact, we faced the original building across the lake and were able to view the entire setting from our balcony. Everything was beyond expectations. The room was luxury plus and I would now recommend this side of the lake as a first choice. One thing we noticed particularly was not only good service (which we expected) but also how friendly the entire staff was.You could not walk past a single employee without them greeting you with a few words and a smile. The spa, the restaurants, the pool, the golf..wow....come and be pampered! We cant wait to get back again.

Make reservations in the restaurants for each night of dining when you make the room reservation...they will fill up if you wait until you arrive and you will be eating at 4:30 or 10 pm..

Long weekend recharge

Staying at The Broadmoor was one of the best hotel stays we've had. The staff was amazingly kind and helpful even in the face of having to leave a day early due to my wife getting a bad head cold. They didn't charge us a cancellation fee and were very kind.
