New Year's 2012!

The entire Tamarron experience was better than expected. The resort was a nice distance from Durango & The Durango Mountain Resort. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped. The maid service was good, and clean, thick towels were provided daily. Would go back there tomorrow if I could!

Overall good experience. Nice hotel, beautiful views! No restaurant nearby, but downtown Durango was great. Our AC didn't cool the room for several hours, which was not ideal at all. Wish we could have stayed their multiple nights to enjoy the amenities. We got lost on the way, there aren't any signs letting you know where to turn.

Exceeded Our Expectations!

Immediately on entering the room, we knew this wasn't just your average place. The room had recently been remodelled and was very well appointed - and it was bigger than your typical hotel room. Big windows and awesome views of the mountain and golf course. The lodge is really quiet without a lot of activity right on site but you are only a few minutes away from the ski-area where you can find plenty to do. A half-day doing the rides at Durango Mountain Resort was a highlight of our trip. If you want to be in the middle of activities in downtown Durango you need to look elsewhere, but if you don't mind the short drive, this place was GREAT.

Nice rooms, no at hotel dining

Many renovations done, many left to do...the rooms were spatious and included nice kitchenettes. The views were spectacular. The pool and workout areas were nice. No dining at the lodge for "a few months" so check on this if it is important to you. It's about 20 minutes from Durango. Would make a great retreat for a couple or a fun getaway for the family that enjoys the woods and doesn't mind in-room cooking.

Lovely lodge and very comfortable

We were here on a ski vacation and really enjoyed our stay. The room was very spacious, comfortable, nicely decorated, and included a little stove for cooking, refrigerator, and microwave. This was really helpful because we saved money by eating in. Plates, cookware and flatware were provided. The area surrounding the lodge is very scenic. The only thing I wished the front desk did was inform us at check-in that it was daylight savings and that we should change our clocks. We didn't realize this and were 1 hour behind the whole next day. We almost picked up our kids late from ski-school because of this. Also, the hotel provided a continental breakfast that the front desk clerk neglected to inform us about. We accidently found this out on the morning of check-out. The hotel itself was very comfortable and lovely, but front desk staff needs to be more thoroughly trained.

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

The lodge is about a 10 minute drive from Durango Mountain resort. The lodge does provides a shuttle to the mountain. There is no night life or many restaurants in the immediate area. You'll need to go to downtown Durango for dining, shopping, and night life - which is about a 20 min drive.

Ski Vacation

The staff was very helpful and kind. Room was great with exception to the refrig freezing the food even at low setting. Could use a few more utensils for people that do cook. It was great being able to take the shuttle to the ski area and not needing to find a parking place at the hill. Skiing was fantastic. The price was affordable. All in all it was a great stay.

Best place to eat in Durango, CO is the Himilayan Kitchen, if you like that kind of food. They have Glutin free items and very tastie entrees.
