Excellent location between Silverton and Dunrango. Secured parking and rooms are also very clean. Only problem I had was, Wireless internet is very slow in the room.

Just ordinary-
For such a beautiful place the room was disappointing. Small and uniniviting. Maid service was awful- no clean coffee cups, towels-= looked like all they did was make up the bed. Need ice buckets and ice machines for the room. Eating places are scarce and not open at all times- if they want to be a year round resort they need to add more service and better pricing.

Purgatory Village Condo Hotel by Durango Mountain Resort
Studio description neglected to mention murphy bed but once over that, we couldn't complain. Can't beat the beauty of the setting. Great location for exploring both Durango and Silverton/Ouray/million $ highway at a super summer price. Can't figure out why they are minimizing the old Purgatory name.

small but clean
The scenery was beautiful. The room was very small. The maid service was lacking. My husband and I stayed 3 nights and had to call the front desk 3 times to obtain fresh towels, linens, soap and shampoo as well as toilet tissue! There were no amenities. During the 3 days, we never were able to shop in any of the few stores that were there as they closed at 5:00! There were no activities or bar, and the t.v. was very limited as well. If you only need a shower and bed (which was fitting for Motel 6,), you'll be okay. Make sure you eat and buy necessary grocery/toiletry items in Durango as you won't find them here. However, the young people who were running the place were very friendly and helpful! Our visit was August 2-5, 2011.

Purgatory Village Condo Hotel
Very ordinary. Sink would not drain. Changed our room. Common ice machine didn't work. They brought us ice, but it took forever. No food service at all available there.

Wasn't pleased at all
The trip would have been a lot better had the room been better. Wasn't worth the money that we paid for it. It didn't even have a microwave and you could hear everything that was being said in the adjoining room. We rode the Durango - Silverton Railroad and loved the ride. Will go back to Durango but not to Purgatory Village.

Weekend Ski Trip
Great place to stay. The ski slopes were very close. Parking was close enough that we put all our snow gear in when we took lunch. The staff at the lodge was very professional and courteous. We would recommend this lodge to any one. The only thing that was if you had to go to town it was thirty minutes away.

Have car will travel
Beautiful scenery right out the window. You must have a car and be prepared to travel for restaurants and entertainment, There is nothing open at the resort in the fall. The studio apartment has a murphy bed, not the most comfortable, but it is clean and attractive.

Somewhat disappointed
We were celebrating our first anniversary and looking for a nice place in Durango. That was our first disappointment. After ten hours in the car, we had another 27 miles to go. I did not mapquest it before booking because the listed address is Durango. Since our activities were in Durango, we invested an extra 54 miles and an hour of our time each day. We booked the condo and it was a lovely suite with a patio. Overall, it was an enjoyabole experience but the cleanliness was lacking. The dishes and silverware in the cupboards were dirty. (The staff cleans them not the guest.) There was quite a bit of mold in the corner next to the shower. There were soap scum handprints in the shower stall the entire time. There was a soda bottle cap next to the couch the entire time. The kitchen counters were never wiped. Little things and, yes, I could have cleaned it myself but I was on vacation from chores. I'm not sure what the staff did except make the bed. The other disappointment was no water pressure. And, when I say "no", I mean that the sink faucet had more pressure. Water literally dripped from the showerhead. While the overall stay was enjoyable, I would not go back. It was uncomfortable to be surrounded by so many signs of former guests and annoying to make the drive to our destination.
