Perfect stopover
This clean, fairly new hotel was the perfect stopover on our way from Fort Worth to ice climbing in Ouray, Colorado. It's right on the highway but still quiet _ and we were there on New Year's eve! We especially liked the memory-foam mattress, and hot waffles got us on our way the next morning. This was our first stay at the Ramada, and we definitely plan to stay there again, whenever we go skiing at Durango Mountain Resort. It's much less expensive than any ski lodge we have stayed at on the mountain, and every bit as nice.

Short drive from hotel
Great skiing is only 30 minutes away, and Durango Mountain Resort has shuttle buses that will pick you and all your ski gear up at the hotel and drop you off much closer to the lift lines than you can park a car.

There are four microbreweries in Durango they are all good. One of them was next door to this hotel.

Good Experience
My only complaint is that the hotel uses Temperpedic mattresses. Apparently I am in the 5% who do not find them comfortable. And one day I did not get full maid service. The room with one king bed is good sized. Lots of room. And there was a 2nd sink outside the bathroom with lots of counter space!

Good quality for the price.
Staff were polite, considerate and helpful. Good proximity to a variety of restauraunts, including downtown. Rooms well decorated, comfortable, roomy and clean. Proximity to train station added a nostalgic touch. No convenient plug-in for the coffee maker. Shower temperature constantly fluctuated. Breakfast area small.

Overnight trip to Durango
The room was outdated and the air conditioner had a rattling noise when it was turned on. The staff was nice and the beds were comfortable. I felt I did not recieve a quality room in terms of the amount of money I paid for it.

Durango Bike Week, 2011
Very pleantaly suprised by this hotel. A deciding factor is choosing this hotel was the Temperpedic Beds. I'm sold! Will be buying one for home! The rooms were quite large, and clean enough. Couldn't hear our neighbors at all. We had pleanty of fresh towels. The staff were all friendly, very helpful and accomodating. Location was fine. Everything we needed was close by, either by walking or a short ride away. The whole town was very accomodating to bikers for the rally! We didn't get a chance to use the pool or hot tubs, but the pool was clean and looked pretty nice. We plan on returning for bike week in 2012, and will be staying at this motel again.

Next door is a brewery that has an amazing blueberry wheat beer. Very good! On main street, you HAVE to have a meal at the Durango Diner. We had breakfast, and it was VERY good. They are quite busy so be prepared for a bit of a wait for your food. The owner cooks and is quite entertaining. The staff there all were just so nice and fun! Very pleasant experience!

Perfectly located, suited our needs
We were a family group traveling from Michigan to Durango for our niece's wedding. Our rooms were connected, which was a convenience the booking people must have picked up on even without our asking for it. We were more convenient to the wedding site than anyone else in the city; personally, I liked having the waffle iron for hot waffles along with the other continental breakfast items. Friendly staff; hot tub; the 12 year old loved having cable as her special treat.

There are two places in Durango serving a great hot breakfast or breakfast buffet; our wedding party met at Denny's; they also recommend Appleby's, which does serve Sunday breakfast in Durango.

Complete satisfaction!
We mainly stayed there to try out the bed for a future purchase. However, the staff (especially [...]) was excellent, the room properly cleaned, respect for the environment, smoke-free, and well-located, albeit not right at the center of this small town.
