Stopover for the night

The hotel is definitely showing it's age. A few things I noticed when we arrived was that we were the only ones in the parking lot except for three cars that had CO plates so I can only assume they belonged to employees. The hotel was very quiet, probably because we had the entire wing to ourselves. The room was clean although the bed visibly sagged, the toilet barely flushed and the refrigerator had to be plugged in and then it took two hours to cool down. The amenities are definitely dated, the pool was not operational and the check in clerk looked like she was bored to death and disinterested. Quite honestly, I won't be staying here again when I'm passing through and I will spring the extra $20 to stay next door at the Comfort Inn.

Good value

The staff was very friendly in thier cute Hawaiin shirts! The room was very clean, if a little run down. The decor is a little quirky, but not offensive or annoying. Nice to be able to walk to dinner of which there are several choices in the immediate vicinity.

Tidy rooms

We arrived late in the evening and were surprised at the tidyness and comfort of the rooms. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was excellent with a lot of variety. Hope that other Ramadas have the same breakfast standard as this one in Grand Junction did. We will defintely return.

A good place to dine for healthier food is the Ale House in Grand Junction. Although a bit noisy, we sat on the patio and enjoyed healthy sandwiches and salades.

A somewhat reasonable hotel

All in all, I'd have to call the Ramada Inn Grand Junction a reasonable hotel -- albeit one that is slightly worn around the edges and probably more than a little overpriced. Nevertheless, it's quite convenient to the airport and that's really what we were looking for after spending a week camping in the wilderness.Ramada has a fairly well-earned reputation for comfortable bedding and the bed and comforters were, as usual, excellent. No complaints on the most important issue -- sleeping! The price, via [...], beat the Doubletree by some $40 to $50 -- and frankly that seemed a bit too much to pay for a "free" chocolate chip cookie. The pool was unavailable to us (due "to strong chemicals in use") which was unfortunate on yet another 100 degree day. The free breakfast was, frankly, somewhat horrible, but it's what one expects of such things. The guest laundry facilities (important after a week in the wilderness) were limited to a single washer and dryer -- more would be better. The staff was universally friendly and helpful. Hopefully someday the facility will be updated to be as superior as the staff.

Don't Do It!!!

It looked nice when we arrived but that was very decieving. I was traveling with a group of guys for dirt bike riding. There was six of us so I booked two rooms for three people in each. The picture showed a king bed and a couch in the room. We figured that would work. The rooms we got had no couch and no room for a roll away, which they wanted an extra $10 for anyway. We made one room work, with my son sleeping on the floor in a sleeping bag, but the other three guys were moved to a smoking room with a roll away bed. The smoke was so bad that they woke up with sore throats. Then we stepped on cockroaches in the dining room![...] I will NEVER use [...] Ramada again!!!
