In the midst of impersonal corporate hotels, the Christiania at Vail holds its ground as a charming and welcoming European-style lodge. Our 22 rooms and suites feature European furniture and woodwork. Ski right into our backyard during the ski season. The Vista Bahn chairlift is just out our back door. Our ski valet will store your skis and put your boots on the boot dryers while you head upstairs to Sarahs Lounge, one of the best apres ski spots in the village. Helmut Fricker still entertains once a week with his combination of Austrian songs, jokes and stories of Vails past. Head out to our heated outdoor swimming pool/hot tub, relax in our sauna, or check your emails through our complimentary wireless internet. In the morning, start your day with our continental breakfast before heading out to the slopes. The Christiania Lodge is the perfect place to relax on your vacation, and our friendly staff is here to help you get the most out of all that Vail has to offer. Complimentary continental Breakfast and parking in the summer. Please note the following fees during winter season- Continental Breakfast USD 7.50 per person, parking in the winter USD 15 a day, humidifier rental USD 7.00 a day. Check-in time is after 4pm on the day of arrival. Check-out is at 11am. Please check-in at the front desk. If arriving late please call 1-970-476-5641 for instructions. Please call 1-970-476-5641 for after hours check-in procedure. The Vail Valley, home to world-class Vail and Beaver Creek ski resorts, is a stunningly beautiful place with epic recreation, world-class events, wonderful weather and a convenient location.

Close to Red Lion and the Lifts

A great location for skiing and après ski. Steps away from the Vail Village lift an the Red Lion. Good breakfeast (which was an extra 7.50 per day) and an inviting bar/dining room. Only complaints are somewhat outdated electronics in the room, the fact that it was somewhat noisy at night (I was on the first floor and it was noisy from both outside and the room above me), and the slippery stairs to the pool (there is no separate hot tub but a nice heated pool). Generally an somewhat older crowd.

Great little hotel. Great location.

There couldn't be a nicer hotel in Vail for the money. Ski in ski out at the base of the chair lift. The hotel offered us a complimentary upgrade when we checked in which gave us view of the mountain, a nice balcony with steps that led to the pool/hot tub (heated for year round use). Rented our skis directly across the street (20 % discount because we stayed at this hotel) and kept them in a ski room in the basement of our hotel.

Great location, no air conditioning

The hotel is in a perfect location - very short walk to restaurants and shopping in the Village. The staff was extremely friendly and the hotel was clean. However, the room was hot and stuffy and smelled bad as a result. Open windows and the provided fan offered little circulation. Wish we would've spent an extra $25/night to stay somewhere cool! Would consider staying here again in the winter.

Receptionist could use an attitude adjustment in a big way. Room fairly clean. No air conditioning, comfortable and a decent bang for the buck. EXCELLENT location!

Nice Place

They did not have the reservation for some reason, but gave us a different room. The location is really nice. For some reason we were charged extra $15 for taxes. Although when I did the booking the charges included the taxes.

Christiana Hotel Vail

The service was personalized and attentive. Hotel employees were always friendly and helpful. 100 steps to and from the Vistabahn lift was perfect. I'd definitely recommend the Christiana for a stay at Vail.

Loved the location....secret little gem!

This is old school Vail! Love the staff, and the location is worth millions. The accommodations are perfect for a ski lodge. The pool and Apres Ski lounge are such a bonus. We loved our visit and overall experience at the Christiania. We received more than we bargained for...
