Worth a stay
We took my daughter here for skiing for her 10th birthday. The hotel itself is nice -- about you would expect from Marriott -- but the staff are above and beyond. Though we had only mentioned the reason for our stay, on the evening of her birthday the staff sent her cookies, chocolates and milk along with a birthday card that the front staff had all signed. They made it a truly memorable stay.

Money-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
Don't use the valet parking - there is a free parking garage just a short walk away, and it will save you $21.00.

Vail Marriott review
The hotel was fabulous - very friendly staff and gret location, right by the gondola. We traveled to Vail in mid-October, and my only complaint is that everything in the town closes by 5 pm on the off season.

Mariott.......HOtel or Hoover ?
The Orbitz room rate was OK..... it was low, low season However, the rate did not include parking....$28 per night and there were no options. This was an unexpected charge and similar properties provided free parking Service was friendly.....but oriented that you couldn't make a move without having to tip. A tip should be considered a reward.....not an obligation. The Marriott service system is a Hoover for money.

Close to Gondala and ski school
Other than its location which was a short walk to the Gondala and ski school, the rooms were very small. We had upgraded to the lodge room thinking it may be a little bigger since it was twice the cost and were very dissapointed. The room was very tiny...doesnt leave much room for your suit cases or getting ready. Had sliding glass door but NO balcony. Not what I expected for a lodge room. I thought it was over pricey. Watch out for the breakfast bar at the resort...we didnt ask what it cost and just ate it thinking it would be comparable to others....over $20 per person! Even kids! Our jaws dropped when we saw the bill because the food wasnt even good. Needless to say we never went back there. The apperance was nice, friendly, loved having the ski rental right there in the hotel, that was very convientent. We had a great trip over all, but I would have to say the worst part of the whole thing was the cost of the room and how tiny it was!

Garfinkle's was a nice place to eat close by the Gondala. Short walk and priced resonable.
