closest hotel to Yale campus in New Haven
it's very very close (5 min walk to the main library) to the main campus, which is the most important part to me because I don't want to walk too much. The bad thing it is actually located at the border of a bad neighborhood. Overall, it's an ideal place for a short stay and visiting Yale is your priority!

Great Facilities but Noisy
We were visiting Yale University with our son. It was a pleasant experience although the parking was quite expensive at $15. We liked the ice that was available in the hallway; it was 100 degrees. The room itself was nothing remarkable, but I liked that there was free wi-fi available and a rollout desk. In general, sleeping was difficult as we're away from home. However, the bed was very comfortable.

It was OK
There was no binder in the room to outline the hotel services, which was really odd. We called down to the front desk a few times to make sure the binder wasn't taken from our room in error but the staff never answered our calls. We had to pay $15 per night to use the parking garage. It was OK for one night but certainly not the type of place you'd want to go for an extended period.

Good Location
The purpose for the trip was to take our son to visit Yale. The hotel is under constuction so at first look, very unappealing. The downstairs lobby and restaurant are torn up so they offer breakfast in the conference room. The rooms are clean and updated. A little mold in the shower of both rooms. They have updated the rooms but there are unsightly patches in the ceiling. They offer coffee in the lobby at all times. Overall, the location and proximity to Yale was worth staying there. Would definately stay again. It rained the entire weekend and they did offer umbrellas to the guests. Friendly and helpful staff!! Surrounding neighborhood is not good at all. Don't wander outside of the yale campus.

Nice Hotel
Apparently newly renovated hotel, right on the edge of the Yale University campus. It has both cold and hot buffet breakfasts in the morning, albeit for a charge ($9.95 cold/$10.95 hot) and a lounge with bar open in the evenings. We would choose it again if traveling to visit the University.

Good location. Walk Yale campus.
Rooms are comfortable. Hotel is clean. Great location if going on Yale campus. Did have a couple of problems with invoice at check out. Were charged double for parking and also had to call desk once we returned home when we discovered our credit card had been charged twice for the room. The front desk attendant was helpful in getting these problems corrected.

okay for meeting, nothing exceptional
I went to a meeting at Yale over a weekend. Was short walk to meeting and fine day and evening. Could have stood warmer blankets, but they gave us an extra.
