The seafood restaurant right across the street has really great seafood entrees. The pizza place next door serves great pizza and pasta, and the Spy City Cafe has great breakfasts.

Excellent Family Trip
This was a great stay for our family! The staff was friendly, courteous and helpful. They assisted us with planning out transportation and the best metro routes for where we wanted to go. Walking in and out of the hotel we were always greated warmly. They treated my 10 and 11 year old kids like normal people and did not talk down to them and seemed genuinly interested in what they were talking about. They had a taxi waiting for us the day of depature which was extrememly helpful. The breakfast and room service were very good and again, very friendly staff. I would not dream of staying anywhere else. The only downside was that the pool was closed the first two days we were there but things like that happen. The staff was very apologetic and even called our room when it was open again.

Good place to stay in D.C.
Once you get your bearings, the hotel is close enough to everything you'd want to see; very easy access to the Metro; several choices for eats--not everything is right outside the door mind you but within reasonable walking distance: The hotel is right next door to the International Spy Museum (which we didn't have time to visit). The hotel staff was especially friendly and accommodating.

Very nice weekend!
Enjoyed out stay, generally quite, room clean and comfortable, staff very friendly, and a great location in downtown Washington, DC.

Good location for a good price
The hotel was pretty nice and the notations cation was great. The gym was very disappointing, as was the pool.

Seemed newer and cleaner than most Courtyards
If you need a standard hotel near Capital Hill/Union Station that's clean, well appointed and affordable you can't beat the courtyard. Gordon Birsch runs the bar downstairs so you get a much better experience then the standard Marriott bars.
