Misleading
This hotel makes it sound like it is situated in a really good area of DC but the truth is, it is actually in a really ghetto part. Though it is only ten minutes drive away from the center of historic DC, it is not worth it because it is in a dangerous area. This also seems to be the spot for prostitution. The breakfast was terrible too, it consisted of toast, bagel and butter, croissants and cereal. The staff was very friendly though. I definitely give them a thumbs up!

Getaway
We visited all the museums and memorials with the knowledge that we could return to our hotel to gain energy to begin again on our tours. The only thing we needed was a closer ice machine. It was an enjoyable stay.

Short drive from hotel
Short of getting lost in a new city, the drive was short to many of the city's attrations.

Neither bad nor good.
Ironing board but no iron. Unfriendly staff. The concessions area smelt of urine. The room itself was comfortable, even if the area was somewhat sketchy.

DC Hotel
It was noisy; of the 6 nights I was there I only got two good nights of sleep. Otherwise, clean, comfortable and staff polite and helpful. Shuttle to downtown was a big plus.

A Little Better Than Expected
We were definitely not expecting much based on the price. That being said, we were not disappointed. If you expect a 5 star room at a 1 star price, you're going to be upset. 1st of all, the shuttle to the subway station is the #1 reason you'll want to stay here. The staff made a special exception for us our first day since we had missed the last shuttle by about 3 hours. They made a special run for us. the staff here is about 10x friendlier than they probably should be so no worries there. There were some negatives though. The area is a little scary. Our air conditioner leaked every single night and made the carpet all wet on that side of the room. And with our room being far out on the end away from the lobby, we had almost zero wifi signal. So if internet is important to you, make sure you get a room closer to the main office. Other than that you'll find the rooms are clean and the staff is extra friendly.

Dining tip:
In Hotel
There is NO complimentary food. There is a chinese restaurant attached to the hotel that also serves some american food. It is very good so don't be afraid. They also have a $5.95 all you can eat breakfast buffet from 7am to 12. Just about every fast food restaurant is likely visible from your room and there is a dunkin donuts that shares the same parking lot. Fast food might not be your thing but it beats eating the same Chinese for days in a row.

It is an old style hotel set up
It is an old style hotel set up and looks its age, although our room was clean enough, but the sheets were passed their used by date - thin spots all over them. We were given the incorrect information on how to access the internet which costs us two days of communication, on the last day another staff member told us something different which was correct. Staff did not communicate well. Breakfast was at the chinese restaurant attached (separate owners) and cost, we walked in and walked out again and so did others we spoke too. One good thing was the Free Shuttle bus to Union Station.

Family Trip
Hotel was great, especially with the convenience of shuttle service. The only disappointment was not having the complimentary breakfast in a.m. This is a priority for our family, so although we were satisfied with the hotel, we most likely would choose a hotel with breakfast for convenience.

Very keep
This hotel was more than I expected. the hotel room was big, spotless clean and very well taken care of. The hotel is a little bit far from the center, but there is a shuttle from the hotel to Union St. (with a very nice and friendly driver). There's places to eat nearby and a beautiful park just in front.
