Great hotel at great price
This was a hidden gem. The hotel was on the campus at Gallaudet University (a university for deaf students). It was located near a Metro Station and was a wonderful place to stay.

Nice Hotel Housekeeping needs improvemen
Love the location and a very nice facility. Bathroom was not clean. Mildew/mold on shower curtain, Hairs on ceiling and exhaust vent full of lint and stuff. Had reserved a King size and received a double queen room. Staff was very friendly.

Washington's best kept secret
Our experience was so good that I fear my glowing reviews will uncover one of Washington, D.C.'s best secrets. The hotel is located on the grounds of Gallaudet University. This quiet university houses deaf students so you will see many people signing to each other. The "door bell" to each hotel room flashes a light so that deaf people know someone is at their hotel door. The rooms were large and very clean. You would never know that this expanse of grass and trees is so near the heart of D.C. There is plenty of free parking and you can eat in one of the campus cafeterias if you like. They also have a restaurant in the hotel but it is more expensive. Their shuttle will deliver you and pick you up anywhere you want in the D.C. area up until 10:00 pm so you can leave your car at the hotel. All you have to do is call them on your cell and the shuttle driver comes "running." The staff was also very friendly. Even maintenance workers struck up a conversation. On the top floor is an exercise room and there is an indoor swimming pool on campus available to hotel patrons. [...]

Money-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
Next to the university is a large flea market. You can buy tourist items at a fraction of the cost you find in the various D.C. memorials.

Affordable Option for DC Lodging Needs
Very clean. Friendly staff. Only issue we had was the shower wouldn't shut off correctly. We reported it and when we got back to our hotel that afternoon it had been addressed. It is located on the campus of Gallaudet University. Very pretty site. For the money we paid, knowing we didn't need a $300/night hotel b/c we weren't going to spend time at the hotel,I was very pleased.

I really enjoyed this hotel and
I really enjoyed this hotel and would stay there again any time. The one complaint I had was that the breakfast menu was sort of skimpy (we went down at about 8:45) so, if you need a big breakfast, don't rely on the hotel. The other comment was that I found it was worth asking more than one staff person for information because, on several occasions, we received different answers to our questions. Otherwise, the hotel shuttle service makes up for the fact that the location is off the beaten path. I think it would be a great place for a family because the university campus provides a nice place for kids to go out and play.
