BEST WESTERN PLUS Aku Tiki Inn

The room and bathroom were both well cleaned, and the bed comfortable. We had an ocean/beach view and balcony. Parking was easy and only a couple of miles from the main area of Daytona beach (though not quite sure where the centre is?) We just stayed one night as a stopover and left early the next morning so didn't use the restaurant. There are other eating options available in the town including an OK Greek restaurant.

This is an older but generally well-maintained hotel with a pleasant staff; our only complaint was the dampness in the room. Even though the a/c ran very cool, the room never really dried out...my husband and I woke up on dank sheets and with stuffy heads, from the dampness. Other than that, the room was attractive and clean (with a micro/fridge and coffee maker included); the pool area is quite nice (if you can take the REALLY loud bar music), and the breakfast buffet in the attached restaurant was nothing special, but certainly filling. The beach was lovely, of course! Please note: An oceanVIEW room is not the same as an oceanFRONT room. But, unless you like loud music, you might want to pass on the poolside rooms...then again, maybe my husband and I are just a couple of geezers! You might like being right where the action is.

This was a very nice place to stay. Kids enjoyed ameneties including free breakfast every morning, ping pong, shuffle board, and of course the pool and easy access to the beach. We had a nice view from both sides of the hotel. The staff was laid back and accomodating. It isnt in the center of all the bars and shops just about 2 miles away which is nice for families. Hotel is older needs some updating and the 5th floor has some smoking rooms which makes it smell bad. I would advise not to stay on that floor if you don't like smoke! Overall, wehad a great time and really enjoyed our stay. We would go back again.

Room was very clean. Excellent access to beach. Would have rated at the top for staff but 1 guy in bar was really rude about the happy hour special which they were advertising. ALL other staff were friendly, helpful and always greeting us with a smile. I will definetly go back if we're in the area again.

The rooms are just right; the in-house restaurant and new breakfast bar are convenient; the happy hour cocktails are great!

Super Hotel, well maintained and with a spotless service. We can´t imagine a better value for money if you want to be that close to the beach. The pool-area offered great possibilities in order to find shelter for the sea breeze....during new year it was not that great weather, but due to the fact we are vikings from Copenhagen, Denmark, it was still OK to take a dip in the heated pool despite temperatures in the 60´s. We played a couple of rounds of golf, and there was plenty of possibilities nearby at affordable rates...and the hotel staff were eager to help with directions etc. All in all - if our way should ever get nearby Daytona, we would definately stay at the Aku Tiki again.

Everything went very smoothly. Friendly courteous staff. Clean well kept room and facility. It was a good value.

It's such a great memory and experience to spend a night there.

Carpets were disgusting, elevators were scary and filthy, staff was unfriendly, pool was moldy and grout was black, the clientele was less than desirable, old, outdated, and definitely not worth what I paid. Trust me, go elsewhere.
