Howard Johnson Inn - Ft. Myers FL

Was very dissatisfied with the pool area> Next to the pool area was a motel dump site. The pool area was unused due to uncleanliness and disrepair. The promo of Wireless Internet only worked from Thursday night to Saturday morning. Disappointed. The staff was of no assistance, except for the Assistant Manager who was friendly and nice, yet provided very little assistance otherwise. Room was clean and comfortable. Bathroom was tight. Sink and vanity area was outside bathroom. Small but usable closet space. Small fridge, microwave, and color TV were available. Location was 30 minutes from Sanibel/Ft. Myers Beach.

My recent stay in Ft Meyers with my family, stayed at Howard Johnson on Cleveland Ave, was very disappointing. The rooms were not ready on time. Got right room and found that one bed was broke. The air conditioner wasn't working correctly, the shower faucet was broken and very little hot water. Would not recomend staying here unless there is no other hotel available.

Howard Johnsons was very clean and had a comfortable setting. We had stayed in the handicap room where there was more than enough room for anyone that is traveling with a w/c. I fell in love with the bathroom- it was hugh! I would highly recommend anyone in the Fort Meyers area to give Howard Johnsons Inn a try, you are sure to go back , as I will in my later vacation. The hotel is located on a main strip that has stores and restaurants. Give it a try , you wont be dissatisfied.

Sorta run down and the staff gave us wrong and poor dierections twice. If you just need a flophouse it's fine. If you want breakfast or other things, no. Heck the ice machine did not even work.

The hotel did not seem to be in a very good neighborhood and age has not treated it well. It was not a well maintained property. The furniture and lamps in the room were mismatched. The lightbulbs in two of the three lamps were missing. There were obvious parts of the room that were attempted to be fixed, but not done well. Some other parts (wall in the bathroom had a hole in it) that were not fixed at all. The outlets available were loose in the wall and if you tried to plug something in the plug would not stay. The room was not clean. I was not comfortable in the room as a result of my disgust with the above items, but still tried to tell myself I was overreacting and stayed the night. In the morning I went to take a shower and there was no hot water. The faucets were not labeled as far as which was hot/cold, but I left each one individually run for about 5 min and could not even get luke warm water. This was the last straw. I was supposed to stay for two nights, but I checked out that morning (early checkout) and told the desk I would not be returning. I informed them of the problems noted above. On the positive side the airconditioner did work well.

Good value for the price.

The Howard Johnson's Hotel provided a clean, comfortable room that was conveniently located to major roads allowing easy access to beaches and freeways. I stayed there on my way to the the Everglades. It was a much better value than the choices I found in Naples, which is only about 20 minutes down the road. A nice touch: There was an envelope with my name handwritten on it waiting on my bed when I checked in. It was a note from the manager welcoming me and inviting me to continental breakfast in the morning. Located right next to a shopping mall, but off the road a bit so it's not too noisy.

Clean and comfortable, great location and value for money.

The Howard Johnson's was sub par. There were cigarette burns on the counter tops, and the room felt dirty. The water tasted bad.
