Very Disappointed Customer

This was supposed to be a birthday getaway trip for my brother and I[...]. From the time, we checked into the hotel, I knew there was going to be a problem. There were hardly any cars/occupants there. [...]once we did get assigned a room, I noticed that no one had been staying in the room. It looked dusty. I ask for a non-smoking room during the booking and yet the room still had traces of a smoker being in there. Ash try on the table, bedspread with burn holes in it (I have pictures if you would like). It was late, so we just went to bed. When we awoke in the morning, we noticed there was no iron/ironing board in the room, so we went to the front desk where we told that there was only 1 iron for the whole facility and it had been checked out!! The clerk tried to contact the customer who had it and ended up going to retrieve it for us. Once we able to get dressed then get out and about via a cab, the driver informed us that we were staying in a really bad drug and prostitution infested area. That is why no one was staying there. He pointed out the police cameras on the facility property that monitor the area now and just told us to be careful! But according to the previous ratings [...], this place was rated 4 Stars? How, I am still trying to figure out (unless that was out of 20). Although my trip was not totally ruined by this hotel experience, I would NEVER stay nor suggest anyone that I know to stay there. The location wasn't bad distance wise for where we were trying to go, but the accommodations were not what I expected. None of the employees wore name tags or uniforms, so when I was in the lobby, I did not know who worked there or who was just visiting. Just seemed un-organized all together.All I can say is If this was America's Best Inns, then I would hate to see the Worst!!

Terrible
